Mum decided not to cook on a Sunday night so that she could have a more relaxed weekend, and we were getting tired of food from the coffeeshops nearby. Hence we decided to go to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital food court for dinner instead. Although it was dinner time, the food court was not crowded at all. Probably because few people would go to a food court in a hospital for dinner, unless they are visiting patients or something. The food court is also tucked right in a corner of the hospital, in fact just next to the traffic junction facing Safra Yishun.
After walking 1 round to see what food stalls are worthy to buy our food from, I decided on the Vegan stall called "Loving Hut". I ordered the
organic rice set - Black Pepper Fillet rice set ($4.80) which comes with a good spread of fresh green salad, a bowl of soup, and the plate of black pepper "fillet" stir-fried with vegetables.
The salad was very tasty, think sesame oil was added to make the salad more fragrant, even the vegetables used felt crunchy.
1 look at the rice and we thought the stall assistant bluffed me as it didn't look like organic brown rice at all, but after 1 bite, I realised it was indeed brown rice, though somehow the colour didn't say so.
The black pepper mocked fillet was well-done, really could pass off as the real thing, if you aren't that observant. The black pepper sauce used was good too.
Lastly, the soup was nice but didn't make me feel thirsty after finishing the whole bowl. Good!
There are 5 outlets for this Loving Hut, which is good as it allows me to enjoy a value for money healthy meal when I want to. What's more their menu is quite a variety, so you can choose to have different types of rice or noodles every time you visit them.
