Bad main courses @ Jack's Place Cry Jul 05, 2011

The environment inside the restaurant is not bad but the service is not up to the standard. It’s quite hard to get the waiter to serve you sometimes. I’ve ordered the spicy crayfish spaghetti and cheese baked crayfish with butter rice. The spaghetti is fine and its taste nicer than the cheese baked crayfish with butter rice. The cheese baked crayfish is a bit watery inside, the butter rice is just a cube of butter that covered by the rice. You need to stir it before you eat. The butter is not enough for a bowl of rice I suppose.

I’ve the lobster bisque, cheesy baked potato skin and crayfish salad. The appetizers are nicer than the main courses that I’ve ordered. The crispy potato skin is delicious. Besides, I have the mousse cake in the chocolate cup. This is taste good and looks good as well. The “cup” is taste nice. smile

There is no queue there. No many customers in the restaurant, you still get a seat although there are limited seats there. The restaurant is not big. The serving screw is moving slowly to prepare the food.

The fried chicken is not crispy as per displayed in the flyers and the portion is small. I’ve gotten my free fried chicken wrap with the purchased. It’s pretty normal in terms of taste and the presentation of the chicken wrap looks nice before you open the wrapping. But it is a bit soggy for the mix of veggies and sauces in the wrap.

Earth Kitchen - Bad lunch ever Cry Apr 15, 2011

It’s happened to pass by this café and saw it’s crowded at lunch time, so I give it a try. The space inside the café is very limited. The serving staff accidentally pours the hot soup on my friend’s pant and never apologizes. It’s already a bad start. I’ve ordered pork ribs noodles ($6.80) and my friend ordered the pork chop dried noodles ($6.50). Both dishes are tasteless. it's looks better than it's taste. The pork ribs noodles’ soup based taste like the prawn noodles’ soup based. I guess they are sharing the same soup based, unbelievable. I won’t visit this café again because the foods really bad, service is bad and it’s not worth that price as well.

Hard Bread - Not my choice!  Cry Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Bakery

My friend told me she likes Four leaves breads more than BreadTalk. I am wondering why so I give a try. The Four Leaves branch in Clementi Mall is not so big. I’ve bought the Spicy Chicken Donut, $1.20 and the Premium Chicken Sausage Donut, $1.40. The price is slightly cheaper than BreadTalk for similar bread.

When I take on first bite on the Spicy Chicken Donut,, I am surprised the bread is so hard. I can’t taste the curry chicken filling yet for my first bite. It’s too deep down inside. What a big disappointment, they do not put much filling in it. When come to the Premium Chicken Sausage Donut, the bread is hard also but the sausage is still ok. I have not tried other items from Four Leaves yet, I can comment on those. If you have tried it, I would like to hear from you. smile

Just like the normal meal that I have in other EAT. outlet, it’s doesn’t give me a surprise or disappointed me in terms of food. The service level there is extremely bad. When you queuing up, the first staff that you passed by will take your orders and marked on the bowl for special order like, not spicy, no veggie or etc. then you will go through the 2nd staff that will cook the noodles for you. I could not understand why he asks the same question that the 1st staff asked before. Before my friend get to answer him, he already put the chili in the bowl while my order is without chili and he scolded at my friend because she did not answer him immediately. I thought they already marked it down? I heard the cashier scolded another customer with fault language but I do not know what is going on. But is that the way how they serve us? huffy

The taste of the food doesn’t fantastic. I wish they give me more veggies, I just could find 2/3 small slice of veggies in my bowl. And the bowl is quite dirty with the sauce and ingredients they added. sad They provide set meal, Set A ($4) – Dried fishballs noodles with tea/coffee, Set B ($5) – Pak chok Mee with tea/coffee and Set C – Laksa (Curry noodles) with tea/coffee. Tried the tea, it's tasteless. I could not smell the aroma of tea. Would I visit there again? I might need to think twice.
