Hard Bread - Not my choice!  Cry Mar 30, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery

My friend told me she likes Four leaves breads more than BreadTalk. I am wondering why so I give a try. The Four Leaves branch in Clementi Mall is not so big. I’ve bought the Spicy Chicken Donut, $1.20 and the Premium Chicken Sausage Donut, $1.40. The price is slightly cheaper than BreadTalk for similar bread.

When I take on first bite on the Spicy Chicken Donut,, I am surprised the bread is so hard. I can’t taste the curry chicken filling yet for my first bite. It’s too deep down inside. What a big disappointment, they do not put much filling in it. When come to the Premium Chicken Sausage Donut, the bread is hard also but the sausage is still ok. I have not tried other items from Four Leaves yet, I can comment on those. If you have tried it, I would like to hear from you. smile

Not bad Zhi Char~ Smile Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

This Ming’s Kitchen is located next to the Singapore Pool near the 24 hours NTUC in Clementi. It’s inside the coffee shop called Varinice. This coffee shop is crowded with people when dinner time. They are selling zhi char kind of food including Chili Crab, BBQ Stingray, and so on. I’ve tried the Chili Crab before, it’s not bad. Usually, they are selling the crab at $3.50 per 100gram. I personally like their Hotplate Tofu. It’s a bit different from what I have in other food stall. The gravy is not watery and they add minced pork to cook together which it's give the sauce a good taste. You can find bean, carrot, button mushroom, shitake, prawn, egg and egg tofu on the plate. Previously they selling it at $8 but now they rose up the price to $9 maybe it’s too popular? Overall the food there is quite nice, except the Stingray. It’s doesn’t look like being BBQ. The Stingray is over soft like being steamed. The Stingray sauce is watery.

This bread shop is just next to the coffee shop at blk 325 in Clementi. They bake the breads and cakes themselves. Once you step in the shop, you can smell the aroma of the breads if they just take out the breads out of the baking oven. The price of breads is cheaper than the bread that you can buy from BreadTalk or FourLeaves. But the quality of the bread is almost the same. They have Milk Powder Bread, Lemon Cheese Bread, Egg Mayo bread, Char Siew Bo Lo Pau and etc which I think is special.

I like the breads that I mentioned above the most because bread is really soft and its smell so tasty before you put it into your mouth.

Chinese Herbal Soup OK Mar 28, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Chinese Soup | Brunch

The Herbal Soup that selling in this stall is quite nice and they give lot of meat or veggie to the soup bowl. They use the traditional soup bowl that made of porcelain glass to keep the soup still warm for a longer time. I’ve tried the corn soup. The soup taste so nice and I like the small ribs that they gave, soft and tender. The corn is sweet too, that’s surprised me because normally if we use corn to cook the soup for long hours, the corn will be tasteless. Last and not least the carrot, love it too, it’s soft and it’s tastier if you eat it with the soup. You could find many types of herbal soups selling here as what you can find at coffee shop. For the rice, you could choose normal rice or “cai fan”. Of course, I prefer the “cai fan” more.

Spending per head: Approximately $5(Lunch)

Fishball Noodles, Xiao Wo Mian~ OK Mar 28, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Brunch

I’ve tried the xiao wo mian from this stall. It’s located inside the food court of the Amara Hotel Building. The food is average, and the price is just like what you can found in the coffee shop. The good thing is they put the shallots, chili and pepper that you want to add on the counter. You may add yourself. They are selling the Laksa, fishball noodles and minced pork noodles as well. Do bring along your tissue papper, umbrella or namecard to cop the table because this food court is packed when lunch hour. tongue
