Other than serving kway teow, one of the store's attraction is the carrot cake.
I saw many people queuing for this and the order list seems to be neverending, so you'll have to wait a little while to be served.

Ordered the smallest portion to share and i think the carrot cake is alright. Although, a little too oily for my preference. Too little egg and spring onion to add to the flavour of the dish.

Categories : Pasta | Halal

Tried the Christmas Party Meal for 4 – 6pax - $56.90 as december was coming to an end!

The set comes with :
1 Regular Jolly Glee Pizza
1 Regular Pan Pizza or 2 Pasta Perfetto (Classic range) [we chose 2 pasta perfecto]
6 pcs Sweet n Spicy Drumlets [changed to fries]
4 Soup of the Day
4 Glasses of Coolers (Emerald / Berri / Summer Sparkle/ Lychee) [tried all 4]

Jolly Glee Pizza: We chose the crust with cheese in it. I felt that the crust was too thick to enjoy the fillings, nacho cheese inside was a tad too salty for me. Seems like the crust was more than the fillings.

The 2 pastas, can't remember the name but both were so salty! Esp the one below. And the cracker wasn't very crispy. The other pasta was alright.

I like the sauce that came with it! Plus, the fries were thick and hot! lol

Corn soup. I guess it's from the can? Some clamps were floating around.

The different coolers. I like the mango one the best as the chucks of mangoes at the bottom was quite sweet.t Lychee was also another nicer one. The other 2.. not so good.

I know that there're having a 1-for-1 weekday promotion now! Head down to try the other items on the menu!

Teppanyaki  OK Jan 09, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

I ordered the Beef Premium Set from the teppanyaki side. Had to wait awhile, especially since it was dinner period.

The set cost $23.99 and if you want to change the rice to garlic rice, it cost $2.70 for the top up.

This set consist of beef, salmon, half shelled scallop, chawamushi, assorted vegetables (salad & bean sprout), miso soup and plain rice.

1. Beef, salmon, half-shelled scallop (since they placed it all in one plate)

The physical food was definitely NOT representative of the image in the menu. I thought it was going to be acceptable portions of each dish. But turns out the whole set is actually.. pretty small size.
The beef was cooked with kimchi, giving it a tinge of spiciness, but it was sour too. Kind of a weird mix with beef. But still acceptable.
Salmon was quite a thin slice, it was so flat, one piece felt like it can be eaten in 3 mouths.
The half-shelled scallop is one of my favourite amongst the set. I like the smokey flavour of it and there was mayonnaise on top of it to boost the flavour.

2. Chawamushi
I like how they used the onion as the bowl! Very creative! This is a dish where one can eat the bowl as well! HAHA! It is similar to the normal chawamushi as it has crabmeat and meat inside of it.

The salad taste like the sakae salad, just that it was of a smaller portion. Quite nice as the vege were crunchy and the salad sauce was a nice mix.
The beansprouts were OK. It was cooked with lady fingers, onions and carrots. A little too oily for me, but still alright.

Lastly, I top up the rice to garlic rice. I felt the cost was a little expensive! But, it is more or less worth it as the garlic rice was very fragrant! and not boring at all!

Whole set! with a few food intruders.

adventurous dish! OK Jan 09, 2013

Tried the squid ink pasta - $5.80 nett.

I can only say this dish should be ordered when you're with company that you're very comfortable with. Definitely not a first date food item unless you're going for a quirky date.

The squid ink will stain your teeth and lips and you'll need many many many pieces of serviettes to clean it off.
Luckily, there's a free flow of drinks at a cheap price of $2.80 where you can gurgle it off.

I didn't really enjoy the taste of the pasta and got sick of it after awhile. Plus, ii was busy cleaning the stains of my mouth, very tiring! lol.
The squid was a bit rubbery, took awhile for me to chew it.

I would definitely come back for other items on the menu as the prices are very affordable!
Service is also quite prompt and the food comes quickly. They have a button to press for service, very wise, so patrons dont have to keep waving their hands to call for attention!

fresh fish

fresh fish

I ordered the fresh fish soup.
The fish is very fresh and there are more than normal amount of fish slices given. Generous and friendly storekeeper! I asked for more vege and she happily obliged (good customer service!) The soup is however, a little disappointing as there's hardly any flavour in it; felt like i was drinking water mixed with pepper.

Not a very satisfying dish but it's nontheless, a healthy alternative!
