Dinner time at NEW Thai Express Smile Jun 04, 2017

Categories : Thai

Was brought by friends to this place at Northpoint basement after renovation just last month...

Ordered our signature seafood Tom Yam, spicy Kan Lam and Thai style roasted chicken. Compared to previous , now they used Ipad look more modern.
The waiting as usual was quite fast with drink serving at first.

Finally Tom Yam was seafood and spiciness is great. The soup consists of prawns, sotong, white fish etc. Combine with white rice. The Kan lan is spicy but can be improved with cleaner look. Next roast chicken is good not only first bite but also on appearance. The chicken comes with 2 special sauce. One is sweet and sour and other is sauce soy. Both are too good to be a combination.

Having know about Tsukiji fish market in Japan and fresh Salmon or tempura set will be in your mind. But this restaurant situate at Orchard Central 12 floor ( Roof TOP ). It is newly in operation. The place is cool and modern furniture which look spacious.

Ordered their signature Tsukiji special Bara Chirashi Don set and Salmon Ikura Don set. The chefs will Japanese member possibly for this place. The Bara Chirashi served with rice and Miso soup too. It is perfect with some vegetables salad as side dish. The fresh Salmon mixture of colours was already melt your heart. Cut in small piece for easy biting. The topping comes with cut pieces of Tobiko ( Fish eggs ) , Maguro ( Tuna) , egg piece etc. Detail can refer to picture.

Overall experience is very good. Will try their termpura set when have another opportunity.

Lunch break at AMK Hub Smile May 21, 2017

Categories : American | Japanese | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills

Not really first timer but possibly first time at SMK Hub. Location is 1st level near entrance facing McDonald. This restaurant is quite roomy with ordering from long queues. Ordered chicken Katsu curry rice < New menu > and Salmon pepper rice. The waiting time is quite fast for Salmon. Hot plate and sound effect already proofed is steaming hot and adding soy sauce on toppling made a perfect pair. Mixing the rice and feel so beauty inside. Opt for more corn and cheese if you are cheese lover.

Here come the Chicken Katsu curry rice. It serve curry separately on a metal scoop. The curry smell shiok and pouring on TOP the rice. The strong curry smoke just rise up around the hot plate and look delicious. The chicken Katsu looked slightly thinner than normal. Overall served with corn and mushroom. This set also accompany with mesh potatoes with curry toppling. Not bad for starter.
It is a perfect combination that should be miss for this time.

Eating in this place is better than foodcourt as sauce and pepper can be taken easily. If the air con can be improve will be better. Enjoy !!!

Miam Miam first taste Smile Apr 09, 2017

Searching for pasta and meetup at this place at Gateway basement. The places was well decorated and open concept too for those do not want air con. Started to order special Mentaiko King crab and Ocean Arrabbiata. The Serina time about 10-15mins.

Mentaiko King crab have a special Colour on pasta which is all black with squid texture and toppling with Alaska crab meat. ( Very small portion ). The first bite will cost your mouth to become black too. Make it a laughing for everyone and taste was very good with this squid taste. The ingredient look empty but with some other toppling will be great like clams etc.

Ocean arrabbiata consists of prawns , clams mixture with tomatoes sauce made a perfect matching. The taste is great with fresh ingredients like prawns with spongy feel.

Overall is a good experience.

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Dim Sum

Was on the way to Sengkang and dropped by Compass One. Visited Canton paradise at 2nd level. It was quiet and no require queuing. We ordered vary Tim Sum for our lunch.

Chicken claw black bean. -$4.90. My favour for all Tim Sum visit. Though size look smaller than before. Ha.

White Chocolate walnut -$8.30. Seem like charcoal alike colour. Some cute on first look. The walnuts is sweet and melted at first peel off.

Crippy BBQ pork buns. $6.60 The taste is nice mixtures and serve warm. The buns toppling with some seasoning seeds. Very good texture.

Prawns mango fritter. -$6.60. The crippy skin covered those fresh mango and melt in your mouth.

Piggy custard buns. -$6.20.
Look so cute and piggy face. The salty eggs taste just right when first bite. It really a must try here.

Overall visit was nice and service can be improve to be attentive to customers.
