X'mas Lunch @ Shin Minori Cry Jan 21, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

This year's company's X'mas Lunch was organized @ Shin Minori since we have a budget restrain. Lunch is at $31++ there were 13 of us, and staff @ Shin Minori arranged 3 joined table for us and the table are along to the cushion seats by the side walls. so u can imagine for those people sitting inside the cushion seats if they need to visit the washroom those people at the end of the cushion seats need to move out for those who are sitting at the center or the one who is trap on the other deadend.

Service is really bad, as different table have different orders and we do not want to mix them up by confusing them we requested for them to note the different of our table but the service crew say cannot because we came in as one group, then i insisted and explained myself then he agrees upon it.

But in the end, food are just kept served but no one knows which table are the food suppose to be for, and we found ourselves having food that are what we order, service crew just puts the dish on the table and walk away without telling us what is that and who was it for.

Tori Yaki (see how burned they were..)

Potato Croquette (Very Nice)

Salmon with egg sauce (taste like non-spicy chili crab sauce)

Pork Belly yaki (not great)

Chawanmushi (Very nice, very smooth), there is a pumpkin sauce Chawanmushi too (picture not shown) very unique, as it increase the flavour to the steam egg.

Mini Crispy Crab (Nice and crunchy but the sharp edge of the crab craws will somehow poke ur mouth sometimes)

Prawn Tempura (Nice, one of the nicer ones)

Prawn Roll & Salmon Roll (as you can see on one of the pictures)

Pictures not shown,
Salmon Sashimi (quite fresh but quite small in pieces)

Soft Shell Crab Handroll (Not bad but a bit salty)

Pan fried Salmon in Teriyaki Sauce (Quite ok)

Salmon Handroll (instead of a slice of salmon, it's some minced salmon bits)

Wasabi Mayo Tori Karaage (the wasabi mayo did not covered the tori karaage fully)

Stir fried Beef with Spaghetti (sauce A little too sweet, but not bad though)

Sweet sauce deep fried tofu (normal)

Chawanmushi with Pumpkin Sauce (Added some fragrance to the chawanmushi)

Peach Salad (refreshing, although the peach are obviously those canned ones)

Potatoes Salad (Not Nice)

This is a place for those who just wanted to eat lots of different kind of japanese food, there is more than 150 under buffet selection.

One thing sad is that they dun have dessert from the buffet selection.

B'day Dinner @ Raindrops Cafe OK Jan 21, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Café | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

Always like Raindrop Cafe because it always reminds me of being in a Greenhouse and yet having lunch.

Today not the first time i visit this cafe, it's like the 4th time but this time round was with another group of friends.

Required reservation if you will like to sit indoor (air-con) area. alfresco seat you need to be lucky so that you wouldn't got hit by the bird poo... lol...

It happens to be a Wednesday, was a Boys Night. Which means you can get one for one alcoholic drinks free, but that starts only after 8pm... and since we were there early, so we end up can't order it. and by the time we finish out dinner we are took full to order dessert or drinks.

anyway Service crew puts on great smiles when serving us, the ice water they served have taste of strawberry i guess this must be from the Strawberries in the water jug. first time i encounter people put strawberries though...

BBQ Chicken Thin Crust Pizza (so so only, not much meat, not worth the price, i think Pasta Mania is better than this)

Pan-fried Salmon (Not great, fishy salmon taste)

Burger Droplets (Not as nice as before)

Very disappointed with this trip to Raindrop Cafe, the standard of food drops a lot.

B'day Lunch @ Kim Gary Smile Jan 21, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Well, one of our colleagues birthday is coming soon, so we thought of give her a treat somewhere, so was thinking somewhere not too expensive, so suggested to go to Vivo City's Kim Gary since they have cheap lunch set.

we made reservation for 6pax, when arrived the restaurant around 1145am, it was still very quiet, only 2-3 tables are occupied. the environment is very nice, bright and you get to look across to the Sentosa Island.

Service crew is very attentive, but at some point they mixed up out order and miss out one of the orders too.

6 Treasure Curry Rice (Curry Rice with 6 different kind of meat, taste of the curry is very local Chinese Flavour, recommend this dish for those who want to eat many meat but do not know what meat to choose)

Tomatoes Pork Chop Spaghettis (surprisingly Quite nice! the Pork chop is well cooked and very juicy, love the huge tomatoes)

Seaweed Fries (not nice if you want to compare to McDonald's Seaweed Shaker fries!, seaweed powder unable to settle on the fries, so it doesnt taste much of the seaweed.

Picture not shown,
the Peanut Butter Toast was quite nice, can try that if you still find your noodles/rice is not filling for you.

Dinner/Supper @ Thasevi Food Smile Jan 20, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Curries | Halal

Took a bus from Khatib to Jalan Kayu to try Thasevi Food's Famous Jalan Kayu Prata! less than 15min.

Upon arrival, we went quickly offered to a table, staffs are generally friendly and attentive.

Plain Prata and Egg with Onion Prata - Egg with Onion Prata is very nice... the fragrance of onion is so rich upon you cutting through the prata. Plain Prata was good only, had something better somewhere before hahaha

Chicken Murtabak - totally worth to pay for it, the Chicken murtabak is so huge, as big as their roti john, murtabak is filled with full of shredded chicken meat. you can either eat with curry sauce or simple eat with their sweet chilli sauce (thumbs up, yums yums, a must try!)

Thosai - wanted to try the paper tissue prata but since we were there around 9ish, so end up there is no more paper tissue prata left, so we choose Thosai instead. Thosai cost less than $2 bucks, and it comes with three side sauces, don't really know what are they, but the lime green one is some yogurt sauce if i am not wrong, i do prefer the the two other flavour sauce.

Will be back again for their mee goreng and other stir-fried stuff.

Dessert Drink @ Group Therapy OK Jan 19, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Café | Pasta | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

After dinner around chinatown, we need a place to drink something and chill around. so my friend suggeted Group Therapy around Duxton Road, so we walked over.

The street is really quiet at night, it is on the second floor, when we step into the cafe, it looks spacious, very homely feeling, cafe was separated into two section, one with normal dining table and another is with cushion seats with tea table. they have one side selling unique utensil (some from japan), by the time we settle down is around 9plus PM. glad that they close @ 11pm on weekend.

it was quiet that night, by 10pm we are the only table occupied. it is a quiet place for chilling our with friends.

Caramel Latte (Very bland and tasteless, it tasted like they added plain water to it)

Hot Mint Chocolate (a little Too sweet with all the chocolate sauce)

Mango Passionfruit Smoothie (Nice and Fruity!, best drink out of all)

It will be a nice place to chill out with a small group of friend, or in the morning breakfast with your loved ones or brunch with your gym buddy (and yes, they have food menu too)
