Dinner @ Breeks Cafe Cry Jan 31, 2012

Categories : American | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | Brunch | Kids-Friendly

Saturday Evening, breeks cafe wasn't really crowded around 5plus...
went there for dinner with my friend. the ceiling is quite low, and the whole restaurant is quite stuffy, ventilation is not good, so we ended up taking up the seats along the corridors,

after going through the menu, decided to settle for finger food instead of the main ala carte, probably because i think the main dishes are over price and they don't really look appetizing.

Waffle Fries with Cheese (Nice! I like)

Potato Island (Baked Potato filled with Creamy Mushroom, wish the baked potatoes were more soft)

Southwest Chicken Salad (so-so, avocado pieces too thick, the southwest dressing wasn't really nice)

Buffalo Wings (not spicy enough, and they just practically pour the sauce on top and treat it as buffalo wings

Service was still quite ok... so i leave it up to the readers here to experience themselves. cheers

Categories : Japanese | Hotel | Restaurant | Ramen

Came across this Japanese Ramen store when i was browsing through a magazine, so decided to give it a try...

From Clarke Quay MRT, will take you at least a 15min walk in order to reach the Gallery Hotel. but good thing is that along the way you can pass by The Central, Clarke Quay and Liang Court... you can also take pictures when you passby all the bridges. Advice to go to this ramen place in the evening or else you will sure sweat when walking under the sun.

they have two separate dining area to the restaurant, one is more like a restaurant another is more like a fast food store concept.

Miso Tonkotsu (ramen is nice, juice sweet corns, but the miso soup is rather salty for me tastebud, not sure if is their way to prepare the braised eggs the egg yolk is almost cooked not like other ramen store's half cooked or watery kind)

Gokubuto Miso (I like the thick soup base! but dun like the thick ramen, it feels like you are eating the flat yellow thick noodles from those chinese noodles store., i think i will prefer to eat with normal size ramen)

Shi-so Gyoza (very crispy outside)

after all, it is a nice place to visit, and you can have a nice stroll back to the MRT station along the riverside with your partner =)

Drinks @ A Curious Teepee OK Jan 28, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Bars/Lounges | Café

After a bad dessert time, decided to find a tea/drink place around Mandarin Gallery for High Tea Part TWO!

So recalled this lifestyle store, café/ bar at Scape, "A Curious Teepee"

It is a very quiet place, good for someone to have a good cup of coffee, read a book or to study. like the combine concept of a lifestyle store and cafe, allow you to sit down and rest after you shop at the store.

Peppermint Tea is very refreshing for a wet afternoon (as outside is raining)

Cappuccino, although it is a standard cup of cappuccino, it warms my heart especially when it is still raining outside.

They do provide some simple desserts (muffins, chocolate cakes and apple crumble pie)

This is a nice place for couple to laze around in an afternoon.

High Tea @ Antoinette Cry Jan 28, 2012
Categories : French | High Tea | Desserts and Cakes | Brunch

2nd time to Antoinette so decided to go to this newly opened store at Mandarin Gallery.

Restaurant was really well finished with similar concept to the one Penhas Road.

But once step in the seats area, i almost fainted. the strong oily smell is so overwhelming, guess they do not have a good ventilation in their kitchen, that's why the oily smell slips out from the kitchen area.

so what if they have nice dining table and decoration, but the air ventilation is bad and the air con is too cold.

nevertheless ordered;

Chocolate Marshmallow Meringue (Very sweet, just like you are eating air with sugar haha... serving is quite big and you get sick of it after a few bites so advice to try it only if you are there with a group of friends)

Mont Blanc (Nice, creamy chestnuts on the top)

Violette (Love the jam taste, but the cream part on the top is a little too hard)

guess after the whole experience here at Mandarin Gallery, i will still prefer the outlet at Penhas Road

Dinner @ Hot Tomato Smile Jan 26, 2012

Categories : Steaks and Grills

Newly renovated Causeway, after 10 good years they are finally renovated, not only a major renovation, they also "renovated" (changed the stores/restaurants available).

one of the new restaurant found was Hot Tomato! attracted by the Big RED HOT TOMATO signboard, and there is a queue to it, so since it is new here so might as well try it.

I ♥ my Steak 'N I ♥ my Pasta (the slogan is quite cheesy, but i like! haha)

Restaurant is quite spacious, tables have ample space between each other for customers to walk around.

Pork Chop with Sausage (Pork chop was very well grilled, and the two mini sausage is a bonus to the whole dish!, and isn't it more healthier to have green salad next to it instead of coleslaw right)

Grilled Salmon with Mango Sauce... (Salmon Not bad, the mango dressing on top makes it more refreshing)

Do get an Ice Tea to go along with too! Cheers.

Must Try!
