Ordered the fried yam, the spinach with eggs in soup, the xin hwa been hoon and lor-mee to share among 3 of us. We enjoyed all 4 dishes, especially the fried yam. The fried yam was slightly sweet and not too oily. There were lots of ingredients in the bee-hoon and lor-mee, such as prawns and clams. The serving of the spinach was a bit small, but the soup base was thick and tasty and the fried garlic was yummy and crunchy.

Chinese mixed rice Smile Feb 19, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

Was looking for a filling lunch and decided on the chinese mixed rice as there was a great variety to choose from. Though the queue was quite long, it didn't take too long to reach my turn. I chose fried dong fen, fried scrambled eggs and pork chop. Everything was fresh and yummy and the pork chop was tender. Also worth commenting is the curry sauce, which was really fragrant and flavourful, a must try for curry lovers. The lunch cost $4 which i think was quite reasonably priced.

I ordered the grilled fish set which comes with grilled fish, omelette and cabbage. The grilled fish was well-cooked, and the gravy on it was thick and tasty. The curry and belachan chili were good as well and made the whole dish really flavourful. The cabbage was also fresh and crunchy. The serving was generous, and i felt very satisfied after the meal.

A-gan bubble milk tea Smile Feb 12, 2012

I ordered the bubble milk tea with white pearl jelly and 30% sugar level. The drink is average, but the white pearl jelly is really good. The white pearl jelly is chewy and not too sweet, and goes well with the drink, the serving is also generous. There was no queue at the kiosk even though it was lunch time. The pricing is also reasonable, $2.40 for bubble milk tea with white jelly pearl. Overall i think it is comparable to the more popular kiosk in the area and i will definitely patronise again!

Was looking for a drink after lunch and saw this drink on promotion at gong cha. The name sounded unique and hence i decided to give it a try. I ordered the drink with 30% sugar, as i always prefer not too sweet drinks. The camelia tea is quite bitter, maybe because of the sugar level, but it is refreshing. The brown sugar jelly is chewy and goes well with the drink. I think it is a good alternative to the normal pearl milk tea and i will definitely order this drink again!
