Was looking for dessert at old airport road market and saw this queue at the soya beancurd stall and hence decided to give it a try. Though there was a queue, it didnt take too long to reach my turn. I ordered 2 almond soya beancurd for my friend and myself. The almond beancurd was really good, it is of pudding texture rather than the normal beancurd. The almond flavour blended well wth the soyabean taste, my friend who wasn't an almond fan also loves it! I will definitely patronise the stall again.

Had craving for Thai food and decided to try out the Thai food place near my office area for dinner. There was quite a long queue of 10 people in front and we waited about 15-20min to get our seats. My friend and I ordered Phad Thai, fried sweet potato leaves, crispy mango chicken, Tom yum soup, one white rice and one kumquat juice to share. We waited another 20-30 minutes for our food, which i felt quite unhappy about it, though the person did warn us of the long waiting time when we placed our order. Also, the food came one by one, instead of altogether, the Phad Thai came first and we were to about to finish it when the 2nd dish, the crispy mango chicken dish was served. Besides the long waiting time, i must say the food was overall good. The Phad Thai tasted sweet and tasty and there were quite a number of prawns in it. The sweet potato leaves were fresh and blended well with the garlic and oyster sauce, one of the best vegetables dish i have tried though it was just a simple dish. The Tom Yum soup was good but too spicy for me, there were lots of ingredients, such as prawns, sotong, mushrooms in it. The crispy mango chicken was average. All in all, i think it is good thai food at reasonable price, but you must really patient!

I ordered the mini pot with beehoon, i think it is one of best noodle stalls in the vicinity. The bee hoon was well-cooked, tasty and quite big portion, but slightly too spicy for me, but i guess chili lovers would love it. The soup was full of ingredients, such as minced pork, pork slices, liver, fish cake, fish ball, meat ball, egg etc and tasted good. The whole meal cost $4.80 which i think is reasonably priced.

Beehoon set breakfast Smile Jan 31, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

Was looking for breakfast to get the food court and chanced upon May's Soon Kueh. I ordered the bee hoon set that comes with beehoon, fried egg, fried cabbage and fish cake. The bee hoon is average. cabbage is a bit oily, fish cake is average, but the egg is well-cooked, the egg yolk oozed out when i bite it! Also, there is fried onions which i thought was just a garnish, but they actually made the beehoon really tasty, i think it is a must add-on if you ever try the beehoon!

Good yusheng! Smile Jan 31, 2012

Went with my extended family to the restaurant for reunion dinner. Despite the crowd, service was good and food is well-cooked. The food portion is really big, though it was a set dinner for 10pax, i think it could be enough for 12pax! The yusheng is not bad, though the vegetables aren't very finely cut. My favourite dish was the dessert - Yam Paste, it is a must try if you ever visit the restaurant! Overall the dining experience is good, i will definitely patronise the restaurant again!
