Must try Yusheng! Smile Jan 30, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Went to the restaurant with my colleagues. Yusheng was really good, the vegetables are fresh, finely cut, very crunchy, also there are fried yam sticks which makes the Yusheng really sweet and crunchy. However, the plate was too small for the large sized yusheng, and we spilled quite a lot onto the table while tossing. Besides that, i must say this is a must try for Yusheng fans! We also tried other dishes, such as wasabi prawns, spinach, fried kailan, roast pork, roast duck, claypot tofu, claypot chicken which are also yummy. This is indeed a good place for Chinese New year lunch/dinner!

Artease bb tea  Smile Jan 29, 2012

Categories : Café | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Was looking for a drink at tanjong pagar area and chanced upon this bubble tea chain. I ordered the Oolong milk tea with pearls with 25% sugar level. The drink is not too sweet, pearls are chewy, overall i rate it above average. What really amazed me is the interesing decor of the shop. Another plus point is that there is sitting space in the shop.

Wide variety available, but i think the pricing is slightly higher than other bubble tea shops. As i didnt want a sweet drink, I ordered the oolong milk tea with pearls with 25% sugar. I find it a thirst quenching drink with rich tea taste. Also the pearls are chewy. Overall i love it! Only bad point - There were only 2-3 people in front of me, but i had to wait quite a while for the drink.

Good deal set lunch Smile Jan 26, 2012
Categories : Italian | Pasta

Set lunch comes with main course, soup or salad of the day, soft drink plus dessert or fruits of the day and costs about $10 to $17, depending on the main course. Quite a wide variety for main course, my friend and i chose spagetti with mushroom in basil pesto sauce and baked cheesy penne with beef in tomato sauce to share. The basil pesto sauce is unique and the mushrooms are fresh and juicy. The baked penne tasted average, but the portion is generous. We also had the caesar salad and minestrone as part of the set meal. The minestrone is one of the best i have ever tried. The soup is thick and tasty and there are lots of vegetables in it. Overall, we paid 28 for 2 set lunches, which i feel is worthwhile for the above average food.

Chicken rice Smile Sep 07, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

The chicken is different from the usual as it is cold. The portion is quite big and a set of rice and chicken and soup cost only $3.50 which I think is quite reasonable. The chicken tasted fresh and chewy and goes well with the dark soya sauce. The rice is not bad, not too oily. I went at 5.15pm and there was only a short queue but by the time I finished my food, there were more than 20 people in the queue. Overall I like it and I will patronise again!
