Basically if you want good, zi char style Chinese food, here's the place. But do not expect good service. The boss himself bangs cups on the table. The waitress, when asked for an extra seat, carelessly grabs one from behind, forcing it through a tight space while the poor chair was knocked all over. The waitress dumps the chair in its place and walks away.
The Nonya deep fried tofu was pretty much deep fried egg tofu. But it was good. If there was additional flavoring added to the exterior of the fried skins, it was lost to me. This dish was recommended by the server as a popular item and I could guess why after having the first bite.

Hainanese Chicken Rice  Smile Jul 09, 2012

My friend has been raving about this so-called famous chicken rice of all in Singapore. Finally i got to try it during one of the weekends for lunch time. Very crowded and squeezed between tables. And indeed abit run down shop. There isn't any fats so called in the kampong chicken meat, however, the taste was too plain for me. The chicken rice wasn't fragrance as others that I have eaten before. I guessed for healthy sake for chicken rice lovers, this is a good choice.

This is a coffee joint but does not just serve the scones/waffles/cakes/ice cream. It serves real food so the review focuses on its lunch time menu.

I have been to this place 3x now and each time has been satisfying.
The menu has changed and been tweaked a couple of times..
Ambience wise you have a choice of perching on stools outside which will be challenging for women in short skirts and can get warm in the afternoon. Inside things also get a little noisy but hey it’s a tiny place!

Located in Bedok South Market and Food Centre on Bedok South Road, Bedok South Niu Ji Prawn Noodles serves Chinese Food. A $4 plate of prawn hokkien mee, perhaps, with a topping of fresh handful prawns and squids. In the morning/afternoon, they serve prawn noodles.... but come evening, they serve fried prawn mee.
There's always a Q there.... whenever we're there, we notice there r abt 5 pple in the Q ALWAYS...

Mr Prata House Smile Jul 05, 2012

Categories : Indian | Coffeeshop | Curries

Many people have previously told me that the dish we Singaporeans call Roti Prata, (aka in Malaysia as Roti Canai) does not exist in India. My patient confirmed that it is not true. Roti Prata does exist in India, but only in a small part of Southern India and predominantly in a place called Chennai. Over there, this dish is simply called Prata. this stall in tampines is the best prata canai aka prata roti I ever tried, best in town and what I love it the curry, it is hot and authentic. thanks to my friend, else i wouldnt be able to come to this place.
