Being the newest cinema under the GV chain, GV Yishun’s Candy Bar has a new counter and a computer screen for customers to view the food items sold and their prices. During my recent visit, I ordered the Hotdog Combo ($7.50) that consists of a hot dog and a drink. The warm hotdog was placed within the bun and I like to put chilli sauce and mustard on it. Bun was soft, meat was chewy and the sauces make it even better.

Having eaten the same food whenever I visit GV, I wish they would introduce more cooked food to the menu and have healthier alternatives for the food and drinks.

Irresistible ice-cream! Smile Mar 22, 2011

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

Went to Cold Stone Creamery because my friend wanted to try the ice-cream from this new ice-cream outlet that just opened in Singapore and also, I was curious about their ice-cream flavours. As this was our first visit, we didn’t know how to order and what to order as prices were not stated on their wall menu. The staff helped us by recommending one of their most ordered signature creations, the Chocolate Devotion ($7.90). There were two types of waffle baskets to choose from: Plain ($1) and Chocolate ($1.50).

I watched as she put Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Chips, Brownie & Fudge on the cold slab and started mixing all the ingredients together. Finally, she flipped the ice-cream into the air and scooped it into the plain waffle basket. The ice-cream was great, and I especially enjoyed those scoops with pieces of mashed brownie. It’s a sinful treat, but worth savouring!

Another kind of bak kwa Smile Mar 20, 2011

Categories : BBQ

It's my first time trying pre-packed bak kwa. It's packed in convenient sachets and lasts longer than normal bak kwa. When I opened the sachet and took out the bak kwa, there was quite a lot of oil in the sachet. Other than that, the bak kwa actually tastes like normal bak kwa, but lacks the fragrant smell of freshly grilled bak kwa. This kind of bak kwa can be a good snack for non-CNY days.

Who says Lemon is sour! Smile Mar 20, 2011

Happy Lemon has unique bubble tea flavour combinations that got me curious on buying a cup to try. But eventually, I settled for one of their popular drinks: Coco Tea Latte with Brown Sugar Jelly ($3.20).

What's special about this drink is the addition of brown sugar jelly. It's not a soft texture that you will get from your usual jelly; these jelly cubes are crisp which I believe it's due to the brown sugar. Additional sweet points for this drink!

Now that I had a satisfying first experience, I will be back with a more adventurous heart.

A variety of fooood Smile Mar 15, 2011

There's so much to eat at Sakura, what should I eat first? Shark's fin soup, a variety of sushi, sashimi, salads, puddings, cakes, ice-cream, drinks, fried food etc...

I was at their Omni Theatre outlet to celebrate a friend's birthday. It's quite easy to locate the place. When I reached there, I first attacked the soups, salads and sushi, then the cooked food and fried food. A plate of food from each section. I didn't eat much as we were busy chatting and having fun! At least I took two to three cups of milo!

Food was great, nothing bad to pick at, since I get to eat a bit of everything.
