Back again to patronise this outlet for tries at other sidelines! The outlet has dim lighting to create a relaxed mood for dining. There are seats arranged in a semi-circle style for cosy gatherings and bar seats near the window for viewing the streets outside.

Unlike my first visit, the Hot chicken is cooked better and spicier than before. Not bad!

Their sidelines are simply alluring to look at; large amounts of food filled in small white bowls.

Potato Lime Leaves Skewer: The potato skewers pale in comparison to the Peri Potato Salad. It tasted of bland, simple potatoes. I wonder if the taste would be better if I had eaten the lime leaves.

Spiced Rice: I'm torn between the Mediterranean Rice and Spiced Rice. I believe this sideline is made with many spices to give the rice its unique flavour. Unlike the Mediterranean Rice, every grain of the Spiced Rice is distinct and tastes yummy.

More than just fish Smile Dec 30, 2010

Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant

Despite the name F.I.S.H, this new concept under the Fish & Co chain offers more than just fish. Their menu comprises of chicken, steak and also a buffet salad bar. It is priced at $12.90++ and $5.90 if a main course is ordered.

Not much choices at the buffet bar. Few greens and other salad toppings.

Over to the main courses..The char-grilled codfish fillet with lemon pesto was accompanied with potatoes. The skin was a bit tough but was saved by the chewy fish meat. The lemon pesto sauce and spring onion completed this dish.

A better main course choice was the spaghetti. I was surprised when the staff served a plate with a bag on it. When I opened it up, reddish, fragrant, hot spaghetti awakened my senses! The spaghetti looked yummy, smelled very nice and tasted very 'tomato-ey' (to my liking) as I swirled spoonfuls of it into my mouth. Succulent prawns gave this dish extra bite.

Finally, I ended the meal with the cheesecake, an intense cheesy cake with strawberry sweetness and a crunchy biscuit base. No qualms about it. Just pure indulgence.

Western dishes Smile Dec 30, 2010

Categories : Restaurant

I rarely tried Breeks because I feel that it's just normal Western fare, over-priced. Also, there's not much variety of food. Went there to celebrate my friend's birthday. The manager at the outlet kindly lent us their fridge to put the cake that we had bought.

Ordered the grilled fish with pasta and sparkling drink, those kind of drink which is sweet and fizzy. The grilled fish is tender and I love the melt-in-my-mouth feeling when I eat fish with sauces. The tomato spaghetti is nicely cooked and tastes well on its own too.

After all of us had finished eating, the staff came out with the cake and started singing happy birthday song. Prompt and attentive service!

All-you-can-eat salad buffet Smile Dec 29, 2010

Had a gathering with friends at Earle Swensen's.

Order any item from The Grill, The Wharf and The Farm sections which include an all-you-can-eat salad buffet, comprising of items such as fruits, vegetables, crackers, raisins, sauces, bacon bits etc.

Cookies and Cream Milkshake - This drink would be too sweet for those who like less sweet items but it's a sure-win for me!

Fisherman's Catch - Breaded fish fillets, prawns, calamari, mussels and fries make up this dish to satisfy any seafood lovers. Squeeze the lemon to add zest to the seafood.

Fish & Chips - The traditional fish & chips with fries. You've got to dip the fish into the tartar sauce!

Grilled Cajun Chicken - Quite a small portion of tender chicken in brown gravy. I want larger servings of this!

Earle Swensen's is like an up-scale version of the normal Swensen's. The food items are pricier than Swensen's but they offer a wider range. The salad buffet bar and cosy environment are plus points as well.

Oishii! Smile Dec 29, 2010

Sumo House is one of the value-for-money and affordable Japanese food outlets that I like. Some items that I'd tried before:

Udon Set ($5.90) - Udon paired with futo maki, california maki, side dish. An average set but satisfying nonetheless.

Yaki-Udon ($5.90) - I love stir-fried udon because it is udon spiced up nicely! The fish was tasty but had a slightly tough breaded coat.

Yakimeshi ($4.90) - Fried rice with breaded chicken. Another one of my favourites! Delicious fried rice that glistens and tastes so well with crispy chicken! A must-try! smile

Salmon Teriyaki ($4.90) - Grilled salmon in teriyaki sauce; I prefer raw salmon over cooked ones but this salmon dish was drizzled in tangy teriyaki sauce that made me drool over it.

Salmon Sashimi ($8.90 for 7 pieces) - Give me raw salmon anytime! A usual easy-to-eat treat that gets me craving for more!

Every set comes with 2 slices of oranges to round off the meal.

Frozen Strawberries - A delightful treat for any sweet tooth!

Sumo House also provides free flow of green tea, self-service. So stop by the outlet if you're in the vicinity!
