Convenient Jap fast food Smile Dec 31, 2010

Categories : Japanese

Came across this eating place after I watched a movie at The Cathay. Tried their bento sets and especially loved their snacks.

During my recent dining experience at Quickbite, I ordered the chicken bento rice. There were 4 well-marinated chicken sticks that were tenderific!

My all-time favourite: Japanese Iced Milk Tea! I love the sweetness of the tea and I just can't stop slurping it!

Their snacks are my favourites too, such as potato wedges, squid beard and gyoza! However, sometimes the food would be over-fried and thus ooze out a lot of oil.

Service is fast and there are seats at the side for customers to dine and watch the cooking.

New promotions are launched every now and then, offering lower prices if set meals are bought. At times, some of their popular items such as soft shell crab, milk tea and gyoza would be out of stock.

Coffeeholics Smile Dec 31, 2010

I go to Tully's Coffee at Orchard Central because they serve great coffee and have free wifi.

Always a sugar rush with Tully's Coffee! Especially for their White Chocolate Mocha! It's sweet and slightly bitter and I love it iced! Their cookies and cakes are worth trying as well.

Savour a cup of coffee with sandwich from Quiznos Subs just beside Tully's and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

The angry burger Smile Dec 31, 2010   (Related Review)

Nando's is about tasting and trying every chicken creation that they have.

So this time, I ordered the Angry Mango Burger. I don't know why this burger is angry, but it's definitely pleasing me. The little spiciness of the grilled chicken paired with sweet mango cubes make this a splendid burger!

As mentioned before, there are 4 flavours for the chicken, and this time, I tried the Mild flavour. A little spicy, but the spiciness did not mask the original taste of the chicken.

New sidelines that I tried during this visit were Cous Cous Salad and Coleslaw. Not my top favourites, especially the cous cous, which were fine bits with weird taste.

Though some dishes were not to my liking, at least I'd embarked on a unique food journey experience!

Steamboat and BBQ Smile Dec 31, 2010

Han River Table BBQ is a Halal restaurant that serves smoke-free buffet BBQ cum steamboat.

There is a variety of food items for the soup and various kinds of marinated chicken, fish and beef for barbequing. Similar to Seoul Garden.

What caught my eye was the fried food section. Onion rings, prawn balls, nuggets, wantons and crispy noodles! Taste-wise, disappointing. The onion rings fall apart easily and the nuggets were a little tough. But I still had the crispy wantons and prawn balls! I hardly touched the seafood section as although I ate quite little, I was feeling full already and had to allocate space for dessert.

I didn't order any drinks so I made my own - taking pineapple cubes and liquid from the ice kachang section and filling the bowl with ice, so I get a bowl of pineapple juice! Tropical drink!

Two types of ice-cream are offered here - in cups and potong! The cup ice-cream was creamy and the potong ice-cream brought back fond memories of eating it in the past. Sweet!

Breakfast time! OK Dec 30, 2010
Categories : Bakery

I love eating bread with cooked items such as egg, mushroom, fish as it makes a hearty breakfast.

Of the breads that I recently bought from Bake Inc, I like the mushroom bread as the mushroom slices are juicy and the cheese gives the bread a mild saltiness to it.

The tau sar bread was packed with 3 pieces for $1.90. It's a much affordable choice than the other breads, with sesame seeds on top. However, the tau sar lacked in texture, without smoothness.
