There was already a long queue when we reached the restaurant. To my disappointment, I saw some empty tables and also some tables whom the customer had left the restaurant but no staff are doing anything on leading the waiting customers in (Only after they waited for a long time) or clear the tables to allow more customers to come in.

Not a lot of choices during that time but still acceptable.

Some Nachos or nuts to go along with the salads.

As I had eaten a few times at this place, I can see that there is a lot of nice salads not provided today and I am having my second disappointment. Though disappointed, I am still ok to make do with the available salad provided.

The only dish that we ordered which comes with complimentary salads buffet too. The Salmon is a bit too dry though so still not a bad dish to have consider we are aiming for healthy food.

The Crystal Jade restaurant is located near to Holland food center and there are 2 levels in total for customer to have their meals at the restaurant. The restaurant is quite crowded and there are not much walking space for customer to walk around to get their sauce (Which is placed at one corner of the restaurant) or to go to the washroom.

As this is a steamboat buffet, the kitchen provide only those cooked dishes like La Main and etc which is not included in the buffet menu. Anyway, a look at the menu shows that they served quite a lot of variety of steamboat items which shows why there are so many people having their meals over there.

The prawns are big and fresh but too bad, they are just one time serving of 2 stick per customer.

The skin of the xiao long bao is quite thick and dry which is not really nice but the juice from the steam meat is not bad to eat.

Not very nice in feel though there was still a bit of sweet Osmanthus smell after taste.

This is really sago with coconut milk type of dessert. There is a strong coconut taste and if you do not like coconut taste, you can forgo this dessert totally. I actually thought there are at least some fruits like melon and etc to enhance the overall taste.

Paris Baguette Cafe is located at level 2 of Wisma Atria at one end of the building next to Isetan Shopping Center. There are a lot of people queuing up for their meals when we are there but strangely only 1 side of the counter is having long queue where the other side is like not much people at all. After some looking around, I understand that one side is selling main course / desserts (Not much people queuing) and the other is selling their pastries / desserts (long queue)

One thing not bad about this restaurant is that the staff clearing the tables are actually quite fast and it enables new customer to sit down without having a messy table in front of them. Their tables and seats are actually quite comfortable which is best for relaxing while having their dessert type of feeling but one problem comes, it also made some people over there buying 1 small dessert and stay there for a long time too.

Their cakes which looks nice and yummy

The Perfect New York Cheesecake @ $8.00

The Perfect New York Cheesecake @ $8.00

The Cheesecake is nicely done and soft with a nice smell of cheese. It is wrap with a piece of plastic warp around it to make it look fresh and nice. It is great to be shared by 2 person as we had problem finishing it mainly because the taste is too strong for us to eat it.
Oh~ My Baby Crepe~ @ $8.00

Oh~ My Baby Crepe~ @ $8.00

I loves crepe cakes and immediately wanted to get it when I saw it selling at this restaurant. But to my disappointment, it is not as good as what I have eaten during my Malaysia trip. The crepe cake shape is immediately destroyed when you tried to slice the cake with a fork and there is too much sponge cake within the crepe which made the overall taste not appealing to me.

Royal Pudding (Original @ $4.00, Mango @ $4.50 and White Coffee @ $4.50)

I ordered one flavor of each Royal Pudding. To me, all flavor are nice and creamy. Perfect for me but I like original best since you can taste more of the creamy milk. If you are creative enough, you can use those empty bottles for some creative stuff too as it is small and cute.
Mushroom Foccacia @ $2.90

Mushroom Foccacia @ $2.90

This pastry or bread is actually quite cold when it is put on my tray (They never heat it up or at least warm it). When you bite on it, it is quite hard to bite on since it is quite cold (it is an air-conditioned restaurant).
Cheese Omelette With A Difference @ $18.00

Cheese Omelette With A Difference @ $18.00

There is a strong smell of cheese within the omelette mixed together with some leafs/vegetables which is very nice and yummy. The omelette is about 80% cooked as when you cut open it, you are able to see some watery feel of the egg within. The omelette is served together with potato wedges and some garden salad.

HOT Tomato Cafe & Grill Smile Jan 28, 2013

Categories : Steaks and Grills

The staff are very friendly and we got a seat without much waiting (consider lucky for us as I saw people queuing up soon after we got our seats). Environment is very good where tables are not really too close between each other and there are enough walk space for the waiters and waitress to take orders and served their food.
Soup of the Day: Tomato Soup with Garlic Bread

Soup of the Day: Tomato Soup with Garlic Bread

This is one new taste that I have drank so far. There is a bit of tomato sour taste with a little bit of spicy which should be suitable even for kids. From my point of view, this is a healthy type of drinks and you should try it if you like tomato.

Garlic Bread itself is fresh while you can dipped it into the tomato soup to eat together for greater taste fusion.
Lamb Chop

Lamb Chop

If you are a seafood or do not like heavy type of main, this is one dish which is suitable for you.

The Salmon is grilled and added with some mango salsa sauce which added some mango sour / sweet taste. Salmon meat itself is fresh with some spices during the time when they grilled it if I am not wrong.

The added Aglio Olio pasta and fresh salad within the dish added some value for money type of dish. Pasta is not oily and is very nice even when it is cooled where salad is added by their own mixture of sauce (not oil or cream type) which ensure the whole dish is well balanced between each other.
Norwegian Salmon with Mango Salsa

Norwegian Salmon with Mango Salsa

If you are a Lamb meat lover like me, you might like to eat this dish to try it out.

The Lamb meat is grilled together with some spices (Black pepper should be included) which brings out the taste as you chewed the meat. Though I must say the meat is a bit over cooked as those thinner meat needs longer time to chew into my stomach (Might be my teeth cannot take too hard stuff). But consider this is a nice dish with all the spices mixed into it, it sure is one of the dish to try out for.

Supper Time! Smile Jan 28, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant

The restaurant is located at the outside of the Tiong Bahru Plaza near to Burger King and you should be able to find it using the signboard quite easily.
The seat are spacious and is a good place for gathering and having a supper if you are hungry at night. There are not much crowd when I am at the place so we are able to get a table to seat on and attended by the staff efficiently. (Not sure if it is the same if there are a lot of people during that time.)

Staff are very friendly and the food served are very fast too.
Hot Coconut (With Sago and coconut)

Hot Coconut (With Sago and coconut)

This is a hot dessert where they take out the meat of the coconut, using the coconut itself to hold a hot coconut juice with sago and some meat of the tender coconut.

In term of taste wise, it felt like I am eating cream of coconut where the meat is not very nice as it is cooked (would prefer fresh coconut to this version)

Also, it would feel very sinful to eat this for girls and if you really wanna eat, 2 to 3 person per 1 coconut will do
Butter Pineapple Bo Lo Bun

Butter Pineapple Bo Lo Bun

A slice of can pineapple is being added to the famous HongKong Bo Lo Bao with a small piece of thick butter.

This is a refreshing taste with a pineapple in the bun. Not very sure if the original is with pineapple or without but I prefer one without the pineapple if possible as the pineapple is over-powering the butter taste which I love most in Bo Lo Bao. (wish to put more butter too as this one did not put a lot)

This should be taken first when it is hot as the cold butter with hot bun makes the overall taste better.
Pan Fried Dumplings

Pan Fried Dumplings

As compared to my earlier post on the fried dumplings, this is not as good as the earlier ones but in term of taste wise, they have stronger veg taste and some people might like this dish better due to it.

The fried skin is very crispy which is very nice dish to have for a snack or supper.
Condensed Milk and Peanut Butter Thick Toast

Condensed Milk and Peanut Butter Thick Toast

Thick peanut sauce are being poured on top of a thick toast bread and on top of it, condensed milk are put on to add on the sweetness to this dish.

A nice and tasty dish but also a very sinful one to have for girls (and even guys) and not recommended if you are too heaty as the peanut is very thick.
