Roasted Char Siew Pau OK Dec 19, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Bakery

This Traditional Chinese bakery stall is hiding at one corner fof this popular food court at Ngee Ann City. There are many choices to choose from and I have bought their signature roasted char siew pau. The lady staff over at their counter is polite and patient when serving me when I asked different questions on the products sold here. The stall is very neat and clean. The roasted crust is very buttery taste and is crunchy. The roasted pork meat is fragrant and roasted till really tender and juicy. However it would have been better if the portion could have been bigger as for the price of $1.20 per piece, is abit too expensive.

Ipoh Kway Teoh Soup with chicken OK Dec 18, 2013

Dinner at this Chinese restaurant, which actually has a very simple dining layout but is still comfortable as the environment is very cooling. Kway teow soup with chicken for only $6.90 which is consider reasonable. Chicken meat was quite tough and not juicy. THe kway teoh soup was abit too tasteless and not flavourful. The combination was quite poor and lousy. Service was alright but quite slow.

Hawker Fare OK Dec 16, 2013

Had a simple affordable buffet lunch ($20 per adult) at this cosy spacious restaurant. THe service here is friendly and fast in clearing the plates from my table. Enjoy their fried bananas which are very crispy and not too oily. Is sweet and flavourful. THe Chinese rojak was abit too dry and the fried you tiao was abit too dry and hard in texture. Ice kachang was delicious as the evaporated milk is fragrant and the green jelly strips are chewy and not too sweet. Yummy buffet and cheap too.

Air-Flown RibEye Steak OK Dec 15, 2013

For the price of only $16.90 per serving and I get to enjoy such a premium plate of air-flown steak, this is definitely worth the price. The steak is really big in portion and the meat is tender and juicy. The baby potatoes are also very smooth and fresh, which blend in well with the steak. Their mashed potato with mushroom sauce taste equally amazing, which the gravy is thick and flavourful. Restaurant is quite comfortable and cooling, service is equally good and prompt as well.

Hakodate Seafood Cheese Pizza OK Dec 15, 2013

A lovely simple lunch treat from my friend in this Japanese Coffee House at Bugis. Restaurant layout is quite spacious and environment is cosy and comfortable as well. The service here is friendly and fast. My friend has treated me their Seafood Cheese pizza which the presentation looks really appearing and delicious. Generous amount of fresh crunchy prawns and squids are topped on it. Moreover the clams with shelves are equally fresh and chewy too. Pizza crust is not too thick and crispy. The melted cheese certainly make this dish very tasty and appetizing. The spending per adult is less than $20 which is quite affordable.
