value for money indian buffet Smile Sep 23, 2013

Every Tuesday curry Gardenn offers $9.90 buffet lunch. It includes a drink.
They have quite a good selection, Prata, briyani rice, Chicken, fish, fried vegetables, dahl curry, soup, salad and fruits.

A few of the outstanding dishes I wish to recommend will be

1) Roti prata - It's a little different from what we normally have. Their version is soft and slightly sweet
2) Curry Fish - It's not spicy. The white fish is very tender and you can have a lot of it because it's so good
3) Dahl - It uses beans as the main, I felt it was very tasty and interesting.

For $9.90 you can eat till your fill and also complete with a drink. overall thumbs up!

Cool cafe OK Sep 23, 2013

Categories : Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Had lunch at this cool cafe called treehouse cafe.
its a good place for parents to chill while their kids can run wild in the playing area.

I ordered a pasta bolognaise. It was pretty well done, the meat in the bolognaise sauce was generous.

For dessert, I had a triamisu. The cake was soft and fluffy. The flavour was creamy and chocolatey at the same time. It was an enjoyable piece of cake.

Satisfying dim sum lunch Smile Sep 22, 2013

I went to ah yat with a couple of colleagues and ordered a variety of dum sum dishes that were available. I just want to highlight a few very good one that you should try if you ever make a visit.

top right corner is coffee bun with custard (or liu sha bao). The hot custard that flows out of the bun was so perfect, mixed with the coffee taste on the bun, the taste was just very heavenly.

Their xiao long bao was also not bad. Everyone raves about din tai fung xiao long bai but seriously there are many better ones out there. Ah yat's version is worth a try.

THere is this dish with dou sha and banana inside fried fritters is also very good. the combination of these 2 ingredients will really leave you wanting more.

Happy dessert OK Sep 22, 2013

Checked out this new chill out joint and holland village. It's an interesting structure like a pop up store in the midst of grass patch.

Their beer prices are pretty reasonable. I had some Japanese Orion beer which was light and smooth.

Ordered a Lemon Meringue Cake to pair with it. The sponge cake was soft and buttery. The cream topping had lemon and sugary taste. All put together, they went well. Not a heavy dessert but still pretty satisfying!

Leafy fried kway teow Smile Sep 22, 2013

Some say this is the healthiest version of fried kway teow in Singapore because they do not use pork and lard and that they use minimum oil to fry this dish.

I feel good when the plate was presented to me. It was piled with a good amount of blanced vegetables and crispy anchovies.

The gravy was more watery than shiny and the vegetables were not bitter at all. Despite not using any chinese dried pork sausages and lard in their char kway teow, the noodles were still very tasty and fragrant! It tasted sweet, the way I liked it and also do feel it's not that oily.
