Part of the Ministry Of Food, Lenas is their Italian and American concept offering. The array of available menu options boggles the mind, but the actual quality and execution of each dish leaves a lot to be desired. Ambience at Lenas is rustic, with wooden furniture and low lighting. Most Lenas outlets share floor space with other Ministry Of Food outlets, which result in a much more spacious layout and bigger dining area. Generally, expect Lenas to be noisy and crowded, partly due to its rather affordable and reasonably priced dishes. Service at Lenas revolves around quick and efficient. Product knowledge isn't a given, it depends on the seniority and experience of the staff serving you. Don't expect much conversation too. Most dishes can be served to your table within minutes even during peak periods (except pizzas), which is great. While the menu is vast, food at Lenas can be simplified as a choice of mains (fish, chicken, beef, pasta), and a choice of sauce (normally more than 10 varieties). The menu is huge because each main, paired with each sauce, is a different menu item. Dishes are considered cheap, especially for those with Lenas / Ministry Of Food membership, around SGD $15 - $20 per person. Taste and quality is where Lenas falls short, most of their dishes are just average, and some below average. Personally, I prefer the Pizzas and Sundaes at Lenas over any of their other menu items. The pizzas have a lovely, crisp thin crust, and are generously topped with ingredients. The sundaes come in a few different combinations, but the gelato ice-cream is pretty good.

Operating under the umbrealla of the JP Pepperdine Group, Kkongdon Korean BBQ is their foray into the Korean barbecue market, with the promise to provide high quality Korean barbecue at reasonable prices. Sadly, I don't find this to be so. Ambience at Kkongdon Korean BBQ is rather good. Decor is minimal, as the custom built barbecue tables with attached exhaust vents take center stage. The salad bar is inconspicuous, located in a small corner, and I felt more could be done to highlight it. Furniture is functional, and I like that they use a novel induction cooking / grilling method, which makes cleaning easier. However, some of the table legs coverings are missing, exposing the sharp edges, which could cause injury to diners. I found the service at Kkongdon Korean BBQ to be quick and efficient, but brusque. Staff seem to be in a rush to take orders. However, while they were very helpful in setting up the table professionally, clearing tables is done rather slowly. Food at Kkongdon Korean BBQ revolves mainly around marinated cuts of beef, chicken or pork, and the typical Korean side dishes / salad bar, known as Banchan. Because Kkongdon Korean BBQ offers only sets instead of a buffet, portions are a fixed size. While sufficient, I find it difficult to justify paying around SGD $25 - $35 per person for a fixed set meal at Kkongdon Korean BBQ, when the same price could get you a buffet at other Korean barbecue restaurants. Quality of food at Kkongdon Korean BBQ is rather average as well. I like that the salad bar and banchan uses fresh vegetables, but the pickled items, especially the kimchi, are rather limp, and not that great. The meat quality is slightly better, but could be more well marinated. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend Kkongdon Korean BBQ, as the experience was below average for me.

Full Muffet's Room Cafe review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2013/08/muffets-room-cafe.html Ambience at Muffet's Room Cafe is cozy. Actual indoor seating is extremely limited due to the small floor space, although you also have the option to sit outdoors. And despite the name, there is little to show that Muffet's Room Cafe is inspired by a children's nursery rhyme. Decor is mostly photographs (which are for sale), and chalkboards with well-written and designed words. I like that they have a small magazine and newspaper rack in the corner for browsing. I was upset by the extremely long wait for food at Muffet's Room Cafe. Even though there was only 1 other couple in the place, the food took 35 minutes to be served. And while the staff was friendly, a lack of initiative to apologise and/or expedite the food preparation results in a thumbs down for the service at Muffet's Room Cafe. Because there was only us and another customer, the only reason I can think of for the long wait is that the kitchen wasn't ready to take orders... But if so, the staff could have at least let us know in advance. Even worse was the poor quality of food served at Muffet's Room Cafe for their brunch. After the 35 minute wait, the last I expected was to be served something which I can probably prepare in less than 10 minutes on my own. Extremely disappointing, and having to pay about SGD $14 per person for this is not worth it. She swore never to return. Likewise, I'm never coming back for the brunch at Muffet's Room Cafe, but I might for their Fish And Chips. A piece of wholemeal toast, a slice of ham (pork) and poached eggs make up this Eggs Benedict. I could make this myself in less than 10 minutes, but I waited 35 minutes for this to be served here. Taste and quality is just average, portion is small, presentation is uninspired and unattractive. The least they could do is add a salad to make it more attractive, and use better quality bread... But I'm afraid it'll take even longer to be served then! Too expensive for its worth, and thankfully only available on weekends so people can't order it often.

Full Toby's The Dessert Asylum review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2013/06/tobys-dessert-asylum.html Ambience is average at Toby's The Dessert Asylum, and decor is minimal. The good part is they have an excellent location, next to the huge glass wall which offers a good view, but doesn't dovetail with the overall dark theme they are supposed to portray. Furniture is functional, but a little cramped in layout.

Service is below average at Toby's The Dessert Asylum. I'm not sure if it's the spaced out looking staff or the rather cold attitude / feeling I get from them here. But they do get things done, and food is served rather quickly. Tables are slightly unclean as well, and the menu looks worn out, both of which somewhat irks me. Food isn't a strong point for Toby's The Dessert Asylum, but the real highlights here are the mudpies and desserts. Appropriately, the desserts are quite good, and portions are large. Prices tend to be slightly higher as compared to similar items elsewhere though. Full Costa Coffee review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2013/05/costa-coffee.html While the ambience at Costa Coffee is nice, it suffers from the 'franchise' feel... Meaning that while food and service is decent, it is also rather unspectacular and forgetable. As a cafe, they serve quick, easy to consume food like pastries or sandwiches. But Costa Coffee doesn't have anything more substantial than that. It's fine if you're in the area, but I won't particularly recommend it, as it's also rather expensive fro the quality you'll get. Skip.
