Minced Meat Noodles Smile Jul 23, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

I ordered this bowl of minced meat mee tai mak noodles for only $2.50. As I am a chilli lover,i requested for extra chilli paste in my noodles. The amount of black vinegar and chilli paste is not overpowering.

What I really like is the braised mushroom. It is fragrant with herbs and tender as it was braised for long hours. Another plus point is the soup. The soup is extremely sweet and the sweetness taste naturally and not from MSG. The soup given is actually the fish ball soup as this stall sell fish ball noodles too.

Popiah Smile Jul 23, 2013

When it come to popiah with twice as much ingredients,I have to come to old pontain cafe. It costs $2.60 for one of these popiahs.

The popiah wins all for its generous amount of ingredients and size. The taste is quite light and not salty because of the amount of vegetables in it.The amount of lettuces is a lot and this add on the crunchiness to the popiah. For healthy eating snack it will be a good choice. However,i find that the chilli paste is quite raw in taste and I still prefer the traditional type of popiah chilli paste.

Thai Curry Chicken with Rice Smile Jul 18, 2013

Categories : Thai | Coffeeshop

When I ordered this dish from the menu, I thought that the Thailand curry chicken will be like the green curry whereby it is with watery gravy. To my surprise, it was served as fried chicken cubes.

The curry is in sauce form and it taste like a mixed of dry curry with chilli crab sauce. The curry sauce is smooth too with the beaten egg white.Another thing that will make me to addicted to this dish is the mango salad. It is mild sweet and sour in taste as an appetizer. This set meal cost $5.50 nett and i think it is worth it for a try.

Unqiue combination dessert  Smile Jul 12, 2013

Before queuing for bus, I saw this Beans Talk stall right beside the bus interchange. As there is a promotion price of $2 for a bowl of their signature dessert,I decided to get one bowl to try.

The bean curd and the grass jelly are the main. As for the toppings, there are peanuts, red bean, green bean, taro balls. What I like best is the grass jelly and peanuts topping. The grass jelly is extremely smooth and had a similar texture to the soy bean curd. The peanut is roasted and it add on the extra crunch and fragrant to this bowl of dessert.

Fried kway teow Smile Jul 12, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop

The fried kway teow does have the "wok hei" taste and it comes with ingredients like bean sprout and cockles. The fried kway teow come with a lot of plenty of cockles which are fresh and juicy. It does not taste bloody and is cooked perfectly.I like the noodles because of it softness, not too dry nor salty.

Each plate of fried kway teow cost $3 which is worth for the amount of cockles in it.
