chilled pasta OK Apr 23, 2013

Categories : Restaurant

My friends who have visited this place for a birthday party was raving about how wonderful the chilled angel-hair pasta with truffle oil was. I decided to believe them and try it for myself. My friends were completely correct. The pasta was really fantastically done. It was cooked just right with lots and lots of fragrant white truffle oil with some kind of roe. A must order!

Hot day cold teh OK Apr 23, 2013

What's better for a hot day than a cold liang teh? Hock hua has several branches offering different types of liang teh or herbal tea for Singaporeans. Popular drinks include barley and chrysanthemum. I personally prefer the luo Han guo because it is refreshing and not too sweet unlike the barley. It also has somewhat a bitter taste to make me feel like I'm drinking something really healthy and cooling.

Eating with the horses Smile Apr 20, 2013

Decided to drop by at the stables to ride my own horse (yea I own an entire stable) and try the Riders Cafe that is much raved about. We came here on a full stomach so only had room for desserts. And so we tried Death by Chocolate Cake. The only death we are gonna experience is probably from artery congestion. There's like so much chocolate sauce over the entire cake (which is rather moist). The sponge portions were generously rich and dense with lots of fudge over it. Wonderful.

solid zi char done just right Smile Apr 20, 2013

Despite this being rather out of the way, do not be discouraged. Gems must be unearthed and this one is good. There wasn't a dish we didn’t like when we went that day. We ordered bright kang kong stir-fried simply with garlic, an appetising exposition of dark KL-style fried hokkien noodles, and claypot tofu (very smooth) with ground meat.Their recommended specialties: a fried tofu topped with a golden pumpkin sauce and fried enoki plus a flat pancake of beancurd skin wrapped around some seafood paste are worth trying.

Ahhhh what's with places that move and still retain their old names that include their address? How misleading. But nevertheless I tried their iced soya bean. It was pretty good because it wasn't diluted like some other soya bean places (shall not name them). The bean taste was strong. I also tried the chin chow (grass jelly) and it's highly recommended! smile the chin chow was not too sweet with generous servings of chin chow.
