pork floss thick toast OK Jun 19, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

One may easily get pork floss sold commercially and toast themselves two slices of bread stacked together and top it with the pork floss to make this pork floss thick toast, but for me, foods bought outside just taste more interesting and get me anticipating.
The thick bread was toasted to a crunchy outer layer and a soft inner, and topped with generous amount of pork floss and then butter milk.
I am not quite a fan of their pork floss, too artificially sweet.
Their already sweet pork floss + butter milk = very sweet
I had to endure the already very sweet taste in my mouth and finished up the remaining toast to not waste food.

Hershey's chocolate cream pie OK Jun 17, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food

At only $2.50, this chocolate cream pie is quite a good deal, especially with real hershey’s chocolate, I thought to myself.
But, disappointment started to arise after eating a few bites.
Instead of pie, I think it taste more like ice cream.

It tasted very one dimensional and boring, with just chocolate cream and a tart base, no layers or surprises within. Apart from that, at least the basic chocolate taste is there to satisfy my chocolate craving, and the tart base is quite delicious too, not too sweet. Instead, I think the tart base is tastiest of all, even though there is only chocolate bits, chocolate cream and a tart base to begin with.

Paus OK Jun 17, 2013
Categories : Dim Sum

Saw online that the char siew pau from ho kee pau is a must buy for quite a lot customers when patronizing the store, thus I decided to buy one to taste it out and to satisfy my craving. When I was paying money for the paus I bought, a man asked for four char siew paus, I then think to myself that their char siew pau must be really tasty.
After trying it out myself, I should say that it is indeed quite tasty, not like very extraordinary or what, but it does taste quite different from those I have tasted so far.
Although the pau is small, the char siew fillings inside were quite generous with, and has a tinge alcoholic and coffee taste to it, and the proportion of meat to fat is quite equal.
The bun is soft and moist, which matched very well with its cute size.

As a store specializing in paus (according to its store name), I was quite disappointed with their big pau, the bun is quite rough and thick, and the meat filling is quite tough and dry.
I do not know is it due to me placing the big pau in an air con room for a few hours before eating them, But, if that’s the case, why the char siew pau, which also sat in the air con room for a few hours, still can maintain its taste and texture?

egg ham bun  OK Jun 17, 2013
Categories : Bakery

The bun taste very normal, or should I say it is just a very very normal bun that one can get easily get.
The ham also taste like those commercial sold ham, but something worth mentioning is that it does not taste salty.
The mashed egg, once again, taste like those normal mashed egg bun sold in other bread chains, but since I was craving for mashed egg, this does the job quite well, smooth and peppery, and quite a lot mashed egg fillings too .
Overall, this bun is enough to satisfy my craving for mashed egg.

coffee swiss roll OK Jun 09, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Bakery

Whenever my mum buys swiss roll from a bakery shop, she usually only choose either chocolate or coffee flavour, and this time she chose the coffee flavour. But most of the time, she cannot quite differentiate the colours between the chocolate and coffee flavour, as both are brown, just that they are a few shades different.
I cut myself a slice and eat, the cake itself is quite soft but does not taste really nice, not much of the coffee aroma.
The cream is thin and little, and it taste like those normal whipped cream, not much sweetness and coffee taste that I would like to have.
