Our first visit to Shin Yeh, a Taiwanese restaurant under the Tung Lok Group. I had purchased 2 vouchers from Groupon at $15 each for a value of $30. I made a reservation for two at 8pm. We reached there early, at around 7.20pm and decided to try our luck, hoping there was a table for us.

We ordered a pot of Eight Treasure Tea ($12). The staff were quite attentive and they would refill our cup with tea regularly.

Pan-fried Pig’s Liver with Coriander 煎猪肝
Large portion of Liver! This was really delicious! Must try!

Sweet Potato Porridge ($1.50) was smooth.

We also ordered Poached Savour Duck in Boullion which was quite tender and nice.

Pan-fried Turnip Cake 正宗菜脯蛋
Not too sure how many eggs were used but it was fluffy with the saltish crunchy dried turnips, perfect with a bowl of plain porridge. Again, the portion was quite big for two person.

We were given complimentary mochi after our meal.

Total bill was around $80+. With the Groupon coupon, we topped up another $20+. So on average, it was $25+ per person.

Something to note: The restaurant is located directly above a pub. At around 9pm, you will start feeling the slight "tremor" of the ground which might spoil your dining experience there. So try to be there early!

A hidden gem in the East, situated near Eunos MRT station. There is limited parking lots near the shop front, so it is advisable to park your vehicle at Eunos MRT station then walk over. Our burgers were served in a special manner using mesh tin.

Beetroot Carrot Juice, an acquired taste. I found it okay.

Vegan Franks ($3.80), nothing quite special.

Hubby ordered the Hawaiian Pineapple Burger Set which comes along with seaweed fries and a drink ($10.85). He said it tasted quite nice but not really "wowed" by it.

I ordered the Cracked Pepper Mayo Burger ($5.85). It is one of the recommended burgers at Veganburg and I agree!

Together with my parents, we had a good dinner at Wo Peng Restaurant in MacPherson (very near to my parents' place). I got to know about this restaurant through Camemberu blog smile Initially, I thought of bringing my parents to Tao's restaurant as they have very good service and value for money set meal. However, when I called for reservation, they told me that there is an additional surcharge of $10 for each person during this weekend due to Mother's Day. I replied that in that case, we would come some other time instead. After that, I was searching for a place to bring my parents to and it seemed that Wo Peng was the best choice. Happy that I did not make the wrong decision.

It is not easy to find a parking place especially during dinner time. It is a good thing that the restaurant provides complimentary valet parking service. The day before, I called in for reservation and I was advised to pre-order the dishes as well. Thus, based on the recommendation on the phone, I ordered the following dishes:

Crispy fish skin - Very nice and crispy. No fishy smell at all and it was a good snack.

Wasabi Prawns was delicious. The prawns were big and succulent.

Charcoal Grilled Goose was one of the star dishes too!

Celebrating a friend's birthday and we decided to try out Zen Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant at Midlink Plaza as our friend is a vegetarian.

Unagi Don Set - $14
This is not the real unagi since we are talking about a vegetarian restaurant here. The unagi is actually made of tofu grilled with seaweed and nice sweet teriyaki sauce. I really like this dish and it proves that vegetarian dish can be made so interesting as well!

They offer a wide variety of dishes including salmon sashimi! Of course, all mock meat lah! Wonder how the mock sashimi taste.

Another weekend date with hubby. I had purchased a pair of MINT tickets from Groupon at a price of one ie $15. The deal voucher also includes 20% off Mr Punch's restaurant's Ala Carte menu. However, the restaurant seemed quite empty when we reached there slightly before noon whereas the chicken rice stall in the coffeeshop next door looked pretty good judging from the crowd. Thus, we decided to have chicken rice for lunch instead of western fare at Mr Punch.

We ordered the chicken set for 2, around $13.50 which come with a plate of veggie and also Tofu in Thai sauce. The food was served to us almost immediately after we placed our order. Get your cash ready as they will expect you to pay first once the food is being served to you.

The plate of chicken didn't disappoint, very tender and went well with the chili.

We ordered a plate of innards ($2). However, I only like eat the liver and not the other parts.
