$2 Carrot Cake Smile Aug 01, 2013

Whenever I had a craving for carrot cake, I will always think of Chey Sua carrot cake. What's so different about them is that their carrot cake is made from scratch. I like the way which it is served in a large chunk which is similar to the concept of a pancake. The outer layer is pan-fried till crispy while it is soft and moist in the inside. Lastly, this plate of carrot cake only costs $2.

Charsiew & Roasted Pork Rice Smile Aug 19, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hawker Centre | Roasted Meat

Fatty Cheong is definitely one of the roasted delicacies stall to rave about. I had their charsiew and roasted pork rice for only $3, and the meat serving was very generous. The charsiew were juicy and tender, while the roasted pork skin were crispy. Overall, this dish look like a mess but the gravy definitely goes well with it. I recommend meat lover to give this stall a try.

Durian Shave Ice Smile Aug 05, 2013

Categories : Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

Famous for their wide variety of dessert located at chinatown area, attracted me to visit them. As a durian lover, I ordered their durian shave ice, I was fascinated by the portion of the shave ice as it was enough for two person to share one. I could detect a strong smell of durian, when it was served and I find that it was very sweet. It would have been better if they can provide a scoop of durian puree, which will enhanced the taste of the dessert. For the amount of serving, $6 is worth the money.

Olden Days Theme Cafe Smile Aug 05, 2013

I was amazed by the concept of this cafe, as it makes me feel nostalgic and travel back to the olden days. I ordered their set menu which consist of bostock and coffee, I like the taste of the bostock as it has a strong almond flavour topped with almond flakes and sugar icing. The coffee wasn't up to my standard, as it was not hot enough. The pricing of this set was reasonable as it cost only $3.50. I will return to try their other pastry as most of them is quite cheap.

Nam Nam Lunch Set Smile Aug 01, 2013

Categories : Vietnamese

The place is usually quite packed during lunch hours, so remember to go earlier prevent from queuing. I ordered the Nam Nam lunch set, which consists of pho beef, southern rolls and iced coffee. The beef were soft and tender and it was perfect match to go along with the pho. The southern roll were filled with shrimp and herb gives me a very refreshing feel as well. The lunch set only cost $9.90 and there is no GST or service charge included! I will definitely come back again for the lunch set, if I'm looking for meal below $10.
