Hor Fun

Hor Fun

The Hor Fun in Xin Wang Hong Kong Café is quite different from those that are sold in the food courts and hawker centres. It tastes much more bland and the sauce on the hor fun is whiter in colour. It suits people who prefer food of lighter taste. However, I will still go for the hor fun in hawker centres since it is cheaper and the serving of hor fun may even be more.

The environment of Northpoint Xin Wang Hong Kong Café is quite noisy during the day as it is an open space Café where the noise coming from the shoppers nearby could be heard.

Green Curry Chicken Rice OK May 15, 2013

Green Curry Chicken Fried Rice

Green Curry Chicken Fried Rice

I have ordered the Lunch Set Meal which comes with a Meal, Tom Yum Soup, Fried Otah and Mango Salad. It costs $12.80++. The meal that I have ordered is the Green Curry Chicken Fried Rice, the chef actually fried the rice together with green curry and chicken. I must say that it makes the taste of the green curry lighter. Also I do have a hard time taking out the curry leave while eating. huffy However, the tenderness of the chicken and aroma of the green curry do enhance the whole experience there.

I would encourage people to order the meal which costs $9.50++ instead of the whole set meal as the fried otah tastes normal, the tom yum soup is slightly too sour and the mango salad is just a normal fried stripes of mango which do not have any mango taste.

The environment is pretty good as it's pretty quiet even during lunch time.

Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki Chicken

Ordered this Tori Teriyaki Curry Omu Rice at Shokudo Japanese Pasta & Pizza restaurant and the night scenery outside the restaurant was really beautiful when sitting by the window.

I pretty adore the idea of putting the curry separately from the Teriyaki Chicken as I was able to taste the original and well marinated Teriyaki Chicken. The Teriyaki Chicken was very tender as the meat was from chicken thigh. The curry was very fragrant and it was pretty thick and concentrated which is very much to my liking. It tasted extremely good with the rice as well as the Teriyaki Chicken. There were potatoes and carrots embedded inside the curry as well.

The service and the environment of the restaurant was pretty good.

Ordered this Kway Meal Set Meal from the Pig Organ Soup stall at an affordable price of $4.50. The Pig Organ Soup stall located inside the Kopitiam is just beside the Lavender MRT Station which is pretty accessible to most people.

On the small white plate, there are one egg (cut into two parts), few slices of fish cake, few pieces of dried tofu, some three layers belly porks, few pieces of pig intestines and tau pok.

Almost all the ingredients on the white plate are my favourite but I like the tender dried tofu, the slight chewy pig intestines and the well marinated three layers belly porks the most.

The price of this dish is pretty reasonable considering the varieties of ingredient of the small white plate. The environment is air conditioned as well, hence it's a pretty good place to dine in.

Tong Luo Shao

Tong Luo Shao

Bought this Tong Luo Shao as known as Dorayaki at Four Leaves Bakery Shop and it is definitely no a disappointing one. This Tong Luo Shao was made of two pancakes with red bean paste in between of them.

The red bean paste was slightly cool after placing in an air conditioned area for a long time. It went well with the warm pancakes. The red bean paste was sweet and slightly sticky. There were visible grains of red bean and not the entire of the red beans were mashed into paste. This made the texture of the red bean paste even better. The pancakes were fluffy and spongy. Therefore, it made the pancakes to be really soft.

This Tong Luo Shao is pretty affordable, it costs about $1.50 despite the small quantity of the Tong Luo Shao.
