ilLido sign hidden in a corner… We had to walk this short stretch of path to the world class italian dining place…..

I was pleasantly amazed by the bird eye’s view scenic dining environment!

A surprise complimentary 1st dish from the chef: ‘Soup’. When we tasted it, ehhhh, how come it’s a cold and refreshing honeydew dessert?! The waiter/chef/both surprised us!

A surprise complimentary 2nd dish from the chef: A piping hot potato ball. The waiter asked me to choose first and then went on to tell my friend that I took the bigger one. Then he mumbled to us that he was just kidding, actually they were of the same size. Cute service!

Appetiser: Parma Ham ‘Riserva’ with Pickles, $29. Super thin and slightly salty but very very appetising indeed!

My main: Lamb rack, $58. Tender, cheesy and smoky. Best combi ever.

Another main: Tagliolini with lobster and moscato rose, $48. Fat, fresh and filling. Just can’t get enough of its unique and slightly spicy sweet taste………

Black Opal Smile May 28, 2013

Highlight: the apple & scallop thingy starters were the tastiest dishes for the night.

Egg salad was normal. Mushroom soup was mushroom-y with crispy garlic bread. It's a very creamy soup.

Main dish cod fish was quite fresh and soft!!!!!!!!!!! The presentation of the food wasn't so nice though.

Main dish salmon was too hard and ‘siap’ to chew. Not nice!

Warm chocolate cake was okay and the decorated brownie with ice cream was also very nice.

Kway Chap Smile May 27, 2013

Long queue all the time…

I’m a fan of kway chap, especially for breakfast. It’s not too heavy, not too light, and hot food so I like. The kway is soft and the soup looks clean and appetising! (sometimes some soups look so ‘dirty’ like there’s so many undissolved ingredients floating around… you get what I mean)

I love the salty vegetables cos it’s not too salty. The meat’s very soft too! Thumbs up!

The ramen is good! Very flavourful and portion's quite big. You can add $3 to $5 for a set meal that comes with salad, side dish and drink, which I thought was quite worth it.

Price of ramen around $12 to $15 per bowl.

Pretty crowded so might need to wait for seats. Staff generally very friendly and helpful.

They currently offer porridge buffet, and the dishes mirror home cooked ones in my opinion.

Just spam the chicken wings and drumsticks. Hot, crispy, tasty. Spam only! It’s the only dish that always got wiped out fast. Looks like most customers like me don’t really like all the other available dishes…. well they’re kinda cheap ingredients too so I thought it’s not worth for a “buffet”. I mean, it’s not like we get to spam eat sashimi and feel that’s more worth the $$$$$$$$$$$ and buffet feel. So clearly, everyone was so intelligent and just aimed for the chicken wings and drumsticks!

Somehow they offer nasi lemak and mee siam too. So you can have porridge, nasi lemak and mee siam all tgt! Suitable for those who really don’t know what they wanna eat and eat a bit of whatever’s available here and there.

The overall feel I got was a bit of a disorganised buffet. Maybe I was looking for a wider range and better quality of food, not the typical home cooked ones. Still, it’s a new place and maybe they’re just trying out what best combi to serve. Hopefully if I were to return I’ll get to see an improved buffet!
