Wild Honey Smile May 26, 2013

Initially, I was quite surprised when one of the staffs went “Mdm, no photography for our menus.” Wah I never go before a popular dining place that tells me no photography yet leh… wild honey, you’re the first.

One picture menu is available on an iPad at the counter, otherwise just read off their boards written in colourful chalks. No tangible menus for you to flip and be choosy about. Choose at the counter, pay and wait for your food to be served. Wah… like so authoritative. Note: the 10% service charge still applies.

Luckily my seat’s view not bad… still managed to capture the general feel of the breakfast/brunch restaurant. Sofa seat for me! “Wild honey, no place like home.” quite homely with the sofas around.

“TUNISIAN” signature, $18. For a bread lover, the crispy yet soft bread could easily satisfy one's craving. Spicy sizzling pan of tomato stew with pork sausage, eggs and toast. 7.5/10!

My “EUROPEAN” signature, $18. The very popular eggs benedict, eggs, mushroom, bacon. 9.5/10! The whole dish just melted in my mouth. Very good combination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The eggs were splendid. SPLENDID. Creamy and thick. Mushrooms were enough although I don’t mind more, bacon wasn’t too salty, toast was a bit thick but generally okay for me. Thumbs up!

Overall acceptable but slightly overrated since the staff wasn't totally friendly, and food prices is steep.

KFC OK May 26, 2013

KFC a.m. original recipe platter & KFC a.m. porridge

Platter’s good! Chicken fillet was a bit salty though. Yummy scrambled eggs, a.m. honey biscuit and golden hash brown.

Porridge’s a bit on the salty side due to the presence of chunks of the original recipe chicken fillet. The chopped spring onions and crispy shallots gave the porridge an overall nice taste though.

Fresh milk and milo will always be a good way to kick start a day!

Look at the interior style! Quite small right? But overall feel’s pretty cute and cozy! Looks very apt for shy dates, fun friends and small families with kids.

Both food we ordered are under chef’s recommendations. Boy’s bacon and teriyaki, and my salmon! We shared both and I would rate them 4/5!

Bacon $18, smaller portion but very flavorful with the cheesy feel!

Salmon $16, generous portion, more worth it! The eggs portion were very generous.

Good Morning Nanyang Cafe OK May 26, 2013

Big bowl of mee siam @ SGD$3.50; sourish sweet spicy taste. Appetising & economical brunch that I would pop by for again and again!!!!!!!!!

You can even hitch a free bus ride if you’re around the area! That's one of the advantages of eating at Sembawang Shopping Centre. Not exactly a crowded place but there's still a mini crowd.

It's usually quite crowded but food's served pretty fast. Good place to chill for snacks too.

I don’t understand why the menu is so dirty! I know there’s no service charge and we must walk to the counter to order but I thought it would be nicer if I were served with a cleaner menu.

My mixed berries pancakes, $10. So so.. but I like the berries though I found the pancakes a bit too soaked and wet to eat.

Pulled pork, $13 after adding on to a snapple drink and fries. A lot of pork but a bit “siap” after eating too much. Very tiring to chew but the burger and fat fries were good!

Pork ribs, $20. I tried a bit and it had this pork smell and was also a bit “siap”.

Fish, $20. The sauce was very familiar but I just couldn’t recall the name of that kind of taste. Kinda vegetable/herbal feel if I didn’t remember wrongly. The mashed potato was way too milky. I deemed it as a no-no.
