I'm no food writer or reviewer but I really enjoyed my dinner here. The place is no longer at the AliBaBar establishment but just a couple of doors away. We started it off with a half dozen escargots, which was very palatable with garlic and cheese. We then shared the foie gras, which came in a pleasantly generous portion and was perfectly done, again, I'm not a chef or anything but it tasted pretty amazing and that's enough for me because it was light and delicious and melted in our mouths. Most definitely something we'd come back for. My partner had the Duck Confit and I had the Chicken. The Chicken was great and not too salty like Poulet's, but I'd personally have liked more sauce - but everything else was perfect. The mashed potato and mushroom side were a great combination and I pretty much licked the plate clean. I can't speak for the duck, since it's not my favourite poultry but my partner finished it all pretty quickly and had no complaints. All in all, a great meal and highly recommended! Pretty sure we'll be adding this to our list of places we'll frequent. The quaint ambience makes for a lovely date, and I have to say, I love the detail in the presentation of our food. smile

I've gone to sukiya about 10 times in the past year after discovering it early this year. My partner and I crave for it every week and it's nice as comfort food. There's not a lot of selection, but if you're carnivorous, this place is heaven. The meat slices are thin and of good quality and the soup bases are delicious. We love the sukiyaki soup base, but the kimchi base is not bad as well. We usually have sukiyaki for BOTH sides.

The ramen is delicious and al dente if you cook it right, and the meat cooks very quickly in the boiling soup because they're so thinly sliced. Fantastic with a bit of scrambled raw egg.

Golden mushroom is plenty and that's usually the only other thing we stock up on. The rest of the ingredients we usually don't care about because if you're looking to get your value, it's all in the meats.

During dinner, they provide ice cream as well so that's a much appreciated bonus!
