Baked Rice Smile Jun 06, 2013

My go-to comfort food at Swensen's is the Beef Stroganoff Baked Rice. Basically it is strips of beef covered in thick oozy cheese and baked to lovely perfection. And they drizzle some delicious sauce to coat the rice too. The beef is tender and generous plus the cheese is very fragrant. I think there might be bits of onions too. Once you eat this, you will be too stuffed for their dessert.

Ramen Lovers Smile Jun 06, 2013

I love Ramen and for a long time, I thought that Ippudo had one of the better Ramen in Singapore but my friend told me about this place and I had to try it! Plus the location is easy to find. The Ramen is very very good! The pork was tender and salty. Broth was cooked with pork bones so it was super savory and very delicious. Topped off with one Onsen egg and you got a perfect bowl of ramen. It's less salty than Ippudo's too I think as I did not feel quite as thirsty after the meal. smile

Pork Belly at Antoinette Smile Jun 06, 2013

It may come as a surprise to most that I would pick to eat the savory dishes at a place like Antoinette where the sweets are more well known. I saw the Pork Belly with spinach on the menu and couldn't resist. I have to say, it was not bad! The pork belly was cooked very well and it was tender with the right amount of lean meat and fat. Drizzled with some mushroom sauce and paired with spinach, I enjoyed this meal very much! Didn't get to try their desserts but next time!

Super Duck  Smile Jun 04, 2013

This place has one of the best peking duck I've tasted! You have to order this in advance or else you risk going to the restaurant and finding out that they've sold out all the ducks! It is that good! A chef will come and personally slice the duck in front of you. The smell is incredible and firstly the topmost skin will be placed on one dish, followed by the meat in another. You eat it wrapped in egg roll skin, with some cucumber and dip the duck in their sauce. Very tasty and good for a bigger gathering.

Japan in Orchard Smile Jun 04, 2013

Wasabi Tei is this quaint tiny Japanese restaurant at Far East Plaza. The place is small and only has counter seats yet it is usually full house during lunch and dinner. It feels like a real authentic Japanese eatery. I ordered the sushi cone (I don't remember the name) which has Salmon, California (Avacado) and tuna. The fish was so fresh! Thick slices (not stingy at all) and you can taste the quality. Good eats!
