Gem at Ann Siang Hill Smile Jun 12, 2013

This hidden little gem tucked away in Ann Siang Hill serves good cakes! It's in a corner and easily overlooked by those who are not observant but stepped inside and you are greeted by this quaint shop which not only serves cakes but also sells cute trinkets. I had their Passionfruit cake which is AWESOME! It's really refreshing, light an not too sweet. The taste of the fruit really comes through for this cake. Thumbs up!

Super Duck  Smile Jun 04, 2013

This place has one of the best peking duck I've tasted! You have to order this in advance or else you risk going to the restaurant and finding out that they've sold out all the ducks! It is that good! A chef will come and personally slice the duck in front of you. The smell is incredible and firstly the topmost skin will be placed on one dish, followed by the meat in another. You eat it wrapped in egg roll skin, with some cucumber and dip the duck in their sauce. Very tasty and good for a bigger gathering.

Pancakes Delight Smile Jun 12, 2013   (Related Review)

The pancakes here really surprised me because they are SO GOOD! The winning ingredient is the clotted cream! There are spots of vanilla beans in the cream and it tastes heavenly with the pancakes! The maple syrup is also good (ask for more!). This is the blueberry pancakes and instead of some compote, the blueberry is already mixed in the pancake batter. Super good and I would come back for more! lol

Pork Belly at Antoinette Smile Jun 06, 2013

It may come as a surprise to most that I would pick to eat the savory dishes at a place like Antoinette where the sweets are more well known. I saw the Pork Belly with spinach on the menu and couldn't resist. I have to say, it was not bad! The pork belly was cooked very well and it was tender with the right amount of lean meat and fat. Drizzled with some mushroom sauce and paired with spinach, I enjoyed this meal very much! Didn't get to try their desserts but next time!

Chicken Oyako Don Smile Jun 18, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

In this quaint authentic looking Japanese restaurant (super small and only counter seats), I had a nice albeit sightly pricey lunch. I ordered a safe choice - the Chicken Oyako don. Basically it is chicken cooked with egg and onions over rice. They gave a couple slices of pickles and topped with slices of seaweed. The meal comes with miso soup and some veggies with a beancurd like skin. Very tasty meal, not too salty and overall feels quite healthy. Recommended! smile
