Another Hakka 'Yong Tau Fu' Smile Jul 24, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hakka | Hawker Centre

Since there's a free shuttle going to 'Clementi' during lunch hours, I have decided to hop onto the bus and do a bit of travelling and exploring.

I ended up giving this 'Hakka Yong Tau Fu' stall a try.

The chewy noodles gets better and better when you mixed it with the chilli and tomato sauce.

The rich in colour ingredients are pretty fresh and delicious. On top of that, the taste of the meat paste that are stuff into the the individual ingredients are blending together nicely. As for the sweet clear soup itself, it does come with a nice taste of 'Soy Bean' but it's not strong enough. Probably it would taste much more better, if they have added much more 'Soy Bean' and preferably 'Ikan Bilis' too.

Thai Food Feast... Smile Sep 27, 2013

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

I have been invited to a food tasting event at this Thai restaurant in Katong area. Even though I'm late for the event, but I still managed to reach the place as they were about to dig into the first dish...

'Dry Curry Pork' - S$8
This would be my favourite dish that night. Although, it's given the name 'Dry Curry Pork', but in actual fact the succulent 'Pork' have this nice aroma and taste of good 'Curry'. On top of that, the bite size pieces of 'Pork' not only makes it easy to chew, it also acts as a pretty good finger food too. lol

'Claypot Tung Hoon Prawn' - S$16
This is actually very good. The 'Tung Hoon'(Vermicelli) is pretty moist and even though it's dark in colour, it's not too salty. Too bad, I have to keep a bit of space in my stomach for the desserts, else I would have emptied the whole claypot of 'Tung Hoon' within minutes. By the way, there's lots of prawns inside this small little pot of 'Tung Hoon' too. lol

When it comes to Kaya Bread, most Singaporean's will thought of Ya Kun. However, this place also prepares a similar type of Kaya Bread as compared to Ya Kun and at the same time cheaper too.

They are preparing the Kaya Bread using a similar method as compared to those at Ya Kun. There's the crispy bread, the nice layer of Kaya spread and a sliced of cold butter on both ends of the bread. However, the good thing about this stall would be the nice short queue that they have over here. But the drawback would be the limited number of Kaya Bread that they are selling on a daily basis.

Here's a photo of the stall itself. It's hidden away in a corner of this food market.

Appetizers buffet for FREE* Smile Jul 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese

At this restaurant, you can give the Appetizers buffet a try for FREE*. It includes japanese dishes like 'Soba', 'Takoyaki', 'Chawanmushi', etc. Since it's free, the taste of most of the appetizers are pretty normal. However, there are some exceptions too. I personally find the 'Onion Steak' to be exceptionally good. The chefs have added some spicy touch to the fried crunchy onion slices. The overall taste and the texture of the onion slices are pretty good and interesting. By the way, if you really want to give the Appetizers buffet a try, each paying customer has to order a set meal.

'Eel & Clams Rice Box Set'
My favourite Japanese set Meal would be 'Eel Rice Box Set'. Therefore, I ended up placing an order for this the other day. The delicious taste that you are getting when you mix all the 3 main ingredients(Eel, clams and cucumber) together are fantastically good. The crunchy cucumber and the fresh ingredients are something that one could really look forward to.

it's a restaurant that serves great food and provides good services.

For a start, there's this beautiful and delicious dessert 'Peach in a Jar'.
Peach in a Jar

Peach in a Jar

This dessert jar comes with 4 scoops of ice cream, a few slices of peach, almonds flakes and raspberry jam. Since the peach have completely covered the opening of the jar, I decided to finish the slices of peach first, which is a big mistake... The mixture of the strawberry and vanilla ice cream topped with the almond flakes are pretty nice. However when I scooped a bit of ice cream and jam into into my mouth, that's why the mistake steps in. The taste of the jam is too sweet. I should have taken it with some of the peach slices. In order not to waste food, my last few bites from the jar were crazily too sweet for me, but for the sake of the beautiful and tasty dessert, I know what I will be doing the next time round. tonguelol
