One of the better California Roll Smile Nov 08, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Definitely one of the better California Roll I've tried altogether in town. Ichiban Sushi located at Toa Payoh HDB hub is like one of the only choices for dinner if you are looking for a restaurant after a long day at work.

From a wide range of conveyor belt sushi to shashimi to udon and other Japanese food, this is the ideal place for dinner with love ones, they are just beside MOS burger.

I've been to the other outlets of this Japanese chain in Singapore and their standard remains the same somewhat, and relatively affordable.

Halloween Night OK Nov 08, 2013
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Ice Cream and Gelato

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy ice cream and that's kind of the same thing. Went Ben & Jerry's the other day to get the Mix & Match of Triple Caramel, Chocolate Therapy and Phish Food and they were really awesome.

However, the chiller probably ran into some problems and they didn't tell us honestly, my ice cream started to melt after awhile and I had to complete these sinful indulgence within minutes after purchasing.

The place had some Halloween decorations in preparation of the upcoming festival. It's pretty cool but ain't scary about it. I think that's the idea.

Happiness doesn't come cheap this time round, it's $20.

Interesting Concept Smile Nov 08, 2013

Categories : Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

Has anyone noticed that GRUB, the name itself is very unique? Try spelling it backwards you would get BURG (short form for Burger, I suppose) Waited for about 45mins to an hour on a weekend evening and anticipating a very good dinner after reading reviews on how popular this cafe is right in the middle of the Park. One would definitely appreciate the nature and dining at the same time.

Famous for their burgers, I ordered the Pull Beef Burger, Crispy Fish Burgers, Risotto, Churros for dessert and Chili con carne for appetizers.

Burgers are really awesome. No doubt about it. Pulled Beef comes in minced portion, Fish was huge and Chili con carne, they were pretty generous with the beef toppings. Risotto was generally ok, portion is abit too small, Churros is the commonly dessert on everyone's else table!

I would definitely come here to try their other mains but if you thinking of coming here just for brunch, there are probably other cafés which offer better varieties. Lunch, dinner wiser the selection is pretty ok.

Here's what behind the scene. Taking pictures (of food) before eating is already a habit for me and can encourage weight loss.

Popular Taiwan Ricebox Concept Smile Oct 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese | Fast Food | Rice

Back then when I was in Taiwan for holiday, I brought this similar ricebox (饭包) to eat in the train traveling to 九份.

Today, Woo Ricebox is trying to woo the locals with similar concepts! I had the signature dish, F3 黄金排骨饭包, topped up a dollar more for a drink and cost me $9.90 for a meal! It's really innovative and taste much better than the one I had in Taiwan!
Definitely coming back for lunch someday!lol

Afternoon gathering with the lunch khakis having Prawn Noodle at Joo Chiat. Arguably one of Singapore's most famous prawn mee stalls, I would recommend the Special Big Prawn Noodle. The soup is very tasty and the prawn is fresh and juicy. However the price is rather a tad steep for hawker food.
