Beef rice Smile Feb 19, 2014

Categories : Coffeeshop | Zi Char

I am a regular of this Zhi Char stall. I love their onion beef rice, fu yong egg and beef hor fun!

Beef rice with egg @ $5.50 .
Usually it is $5, additional $0.50 for a fried egg.
Personally, i feel that the portion of rice was too big, the serving seemed like it could be shared among two people.
For the beef it is soft and tender, when eaten with the rice and brown sauce, it is really yummy! lol
Usually, i will order an egg to go with the beef rice. Otherwise, it will be quite plain.

Recommended Dish(es):  Beef rice

Spending per head: Approximately $5(Dinner)

Bought a packet of specialty duck rice at $4 from Yu Kee stall. This duck rice consists of rice, duck meat, half an egg, beancurd and peanuts. Its rice is fragrant and drenched with the sauce. The duck is tender and tasted quite nice too lol When eaten together with the chili, it is really delicious! lol

Butariki Ishinabe Smile Feb 15, 2014

First time trying Ramen Play. Though its specialty is ramen i decided to try the rice. It consists of premium Japanese Niigata rice, pan-fried and barbequed pork, seaweed and topped with a raw egg. It also has a a special sauce which is sweet and really nice! The rice bowl gives it a 'cooking' feel, the rice was soft and the pork was well marinated and flavourful.

Was quite surprised that their rice dish would taste so good though its called 'Ramen'Play . lol

Hot Tomato serves affordable western cuisine. They had a lunch promo from 11am-3pm with various main course @$9.90! I decided to order the Sirloin steak (medium) with aglio olio. The steak was done just right, the way i wanted. Soft and pink on the inside lol The aglio olio was quite nice. The sauce, i think was brown sauce compliments the steak quite well. Overall, the steak was quite nice, recommended! lol

Good cafe food Smile Feb 15, 2014

Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Brunch

This was my first time at Stranger Reunion. I had heard many good reviews about this cafe, how great their buttermilk waffles and coffee! Therefore i decided to went there with my friend.

It is near Outram Park Mrt and we walked quite a distance as i think we were uncertain of how to go and took a long route. Will definitely take a bus or cab next time though!

The cafe was indeed packed with people as it was around 7.30pm. Luckily, there was a table for two. The interior of the cafe is really nice and it provide a relaxed and cozy ambience too lol Service wise, the waiter and waitress were friendly too. However, they were not wearing uniforms, therefore it was quite difficult to identify them at first.

buttermilk waffle with homemade berry compote and greek yoghurt @ $14.90.
The buttermilk waffle was extremely delicious! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. However, i do not really like the berries and yoghurt though. It made the centre of the waffle too soggy. This was because i prefer crispy waffles lol Perhaps i will order the waffle with fresh fruit and ice cream next time.

Truffle fries @ $12.90

The truffle fries were indeed tasty and delicious. However, the portion was quite big for 2 people.

Magic coffee @ $5.50. Double shots of Ristretto and Milk. Have quite a strong espresso taste with milk. The latte art was nice too!

Overall, this is a great place to chill with your friends, have good waffles and a decent cup of coffee at any time of the day! lol
Will definitely come back to try their buttermilk waffles! So far the best in town lol
