Since it was our first time here, we decided on the 3 mini platter ($7) for the variety and paired it off with a scoop of ice-cream ($3). We opted for the "safe" flavour - hazelnut, peanut butter and white chocolate.

The molten cakes tasted alright but not impressive to me. Maybe my expectation was too high but I thought since this place specialises in molten cakes, then it has to be the best to be sustainable. The taste should be one that everyone will think of this place if they want molten chocolate mah.. Somehow, it tasted the same just like those selling in the other cafes. *Shrugged*

On a good side, the size of molten cakes are just nice to enjoy the flavour, yet not too sinful. Great for ladies out there!

Hideout at Labrador  OK Nov 03, 2013

A secluded restaurant tucked in the Central part of Singapore. If not for the address, I would never know that such a restaurant exist amongst the commercial offices!

Smoked Duck Linguine

There were so much ingredients in one dish ~ smoked duck, asparagus & mushroom. For once, I needed to "find" the linguine in a pasta dish. And after we finished the linguine, there were still so much ingredients! Really worth the price and serving was good for sharing for 2.

The smoked duck was done so perfectly ~ not dry & remained chewy with a nice smoked aroma that teased you for more helping. The asparagus, like a supportive actor, sliently added crunchiness to balance out the dish without taking away the glamour of the main star. Overall, super marvelicious! *Droolz again*

Molten Dark Chocolate Fondant

WOW. It was good.

That was the exact statement I made after we devoured the dish in silent mode. Aiya, where got time to talk. The minute a person talk, it will mean an extra spoonful by the other person. And yes, that's how competitive we are when we eat good stuff. =p

I like my molten chocolate to be slightly crispy on the outside and not too moist. That was exactly how the chocolate fondant here tasted like. With a little cut, the dark chocolate oozed out uncontrollably, which simply melted in the mouth. The ice-cream was undeniably , a great match, with the molten chocolate. A must try for chocolate lover!

Waffle with Cheesecake Icecream (ice cream of your choice) - $8.50

We just had a heavy dinner so anything else was plain 'jerlat' to us, but the waffle with ice cream was such delightful that we ended up polishing off everything on the plate. Particularly liked the unique cheesecake icecream flavour compared to the rest of the flavours, which includes vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel etc. Overall, this is one of the rare places that offers good waffle (in my opinion)!

Fine Dining  Smile Nov 03, 2013

I was here for restaurant week and I really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Sharing some of the food items that we had:

Crab Cappeiietti

This was my favourite dish of all! Very thin skin that almost felt nothing, and the dumpling were filled with crab meat. Although not much of the crab taste since it was shredded so finely, it was nicely complemented by the tomato sauce. A very good combination and I wished for more...

Warm Prawn Salad

The artichoke cream paste was unique and the prawns were huge! Such generosity!

The mains were not as interesting as the appetizers. The snapper was a bit bland, okay but could have been more flavorful. As for the beef cheek, I guess I dun really like soft beef but bf said it was pretty good.

Itacho Sushi  OK Nov 03, 2013

We didnt order a lot, so just a few to share here.

Roasted Salmon Roll - $3.50

Salmon aburi (half cooked salmon) is one of the items that I will always order whichever Jap restaurant I go. Not impressive here but passed. keke

Grilled Pork Sushi - $2

This caught my attention. Pork sushi? Wow, there was really unique!

It tasted like putting a piece of grilled pork and a spoon of rice together in the mouth. I guess the idea was innovative, but taste wise pretty much expected

We wanted to try this ~ 40 cents sushi, where to find?

Indeed, it was hard to find.

We were there at about 5pm+. When we first asked for it, the waitress said that it was not ready yet. Half way through our course, we asked again, still dun have. Nevermind, wait lor. By the time we finished all our food, it was officially dinner time like 6plus 7pm. The waitress still said that it was not available! Wah lau, when is this 40 cents sushi ever ready lah! So ya, I never get to order it at all. =_=
