This Lemon Tart that my Boy friend got for me is definitely not for those that does not like soury food at all. Not only is it sweet, it is also extremely sourish(or at least for me).

Pros and cons. Sour would wet your appetite more but too sour can also kill your mood for more food i guess.

They also have this brownie which you can literally taste bits of sugar in the cake and honestly, not for the faint hearted. You really need to be a die hard sweet tooth to like all these sugary pastry.

Like I say, if you are not a sweet tooth, the pastries they sell will really not to your liking.

Cant remember if it is seafood chowder or clam chowder soup. Soup base taste sweet and but a pity that it is too watery. There is really quite abit of clam meat and vegetable bits in the soup. A dish that children will love.Chicken is a little tougher and drier done by this branch and taste more blend. Not as tender and savoury as the one done by The Cathay outlet.Lettuce in the salad shd be cut into smaller pieces for consumptions instead of the actual slices size. Sauce is too watery and cannot really coat the vegetables well.Pork Slices is too blend and again, too dry. Portion does not really feed a big eater well.

This outlet obviously has not enough man power to cater for the peak hour such as lunch or dinner crowd. Situated at a corner opposite the 7eleven, the queue for a table eventually leads to blocking the way of the rest of the people visiting the mall when there is not enough help in clearing the tables fast and allowing people to go in. Even when you eventually gets a table, it takes really quite awhile before the servers have time to cater to your need to make an order.

Basically, if you are really thinking of visiting this outlet, I suggest that you pop by before or after peak hour. Unless you really dont mind queuing in a long queue to get a table, and eventually, also queue again to make payment.

I went this place with a group of friends on a day I am having sore throat. The fact that I am having sore throat also means that curry is out for me so in the end I ordered their 卤肉饭, a.k.a braised pork rice set. As I have eaten authentic taiwanese style braised pork rice before, I cant help making a comparison and would say the one at Heng Heng is a little too sweet and unlike the taiwanese ones, it does not come with some pickled vegetable to help ease the greasy sick feeling. Such a waste. Other wise would taste alot better.

On the otherhand, my friend seated opposite me who also is having sore throat(Okay don't start judging us, out of 10 only the 2 of us have bad throat so we went along with majority's choice of restaurant) ordered chicken cutlet noodle. And yes. The chicken cutlet did make her sore throat worst. So advise to all, don't try to kid with your health over food. In the end she did not manage to finish her noodle and cutlet. Almost half a portion is leftover. According to her, the noodle was'nt too fantastic either. I've tried a mouth of the fish curry my friend ordered and I find them really spicy and not fragrant enough. It's like other than spicy, I don't seems to taste the fragrance of coconut milk, curry or even pandan. Their curry is more of nonya style, rather thick but could still be better. 美中不足，中看多过中吃。

If you visit café cartel after 9pm, side dishes/desserts/cakes would be on 50% discount. great place for gathering and after food dessert with friends.

NEVER TRY THE BEEF LASAGNA from the branch in Nex. The amount of salt they use for this dish seems free. salty to an extend that I cant even finish half of the dish. Bad one. meh. not worth a try.

Service seems slow or rather, maybe due to the timing I visit(10+pm), the service attendance seems slacken. And took really their own sweet time to attend to both my friend and I. Bad impression number 2.

Like I say, the only attractive part is the 50% discount for desserts and cakes.
