Affordable Turkish Set Lunches OK Nov 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant offers affordable set lunches which include a main and a drink. The set lunches starts from $7.90 for a Sofra Kebap (baked bread filled with meat, walnut, eggplant, tomato and cheese). You can choose either Doner Kebap Rice (doner kebap served with Turkish fragrant rice) or Pide (Turkish pizza) for $9.90 and Guvec Tavuk (oven baked chicken and mushroom served with rice) or Mushroom Fish (baked cream dory with mushroom sauce serve with rice and salad) for $14.90.

Pide

I curious to know the difference with Turkish pizza and the usual pizza we eat hence I ordered Pide. It came in a boat-like shaped with its sides folded in and chicken and cheese generously spread in the middle. The chicken is well marinated and the cheese simply softens in the mouth but nothing very much special.

40 cents Sushi? Smile Nov 02, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Itacho Sushi offers sushi for as low as 40 cents! Yes, 40 cents for salmon with soya sauce sushi. Each diner is only limited to 2 pieces and tends to be sold out fairly quickly. I don’t think it is very nice because it is a thinly sliced salmon skin with some fats and even thinner salmon flesh. It has some fishy smell too. Apart from that, other discounted items such as cold soba with seasoned scallop, spicy salmon sushi and salmon lobster roll are delectable! The cold soba with seasoned scallop is chilled and very refreshing. The spicy salmon sushi is filled with spicy salmon and the sweetness from the beancurd skin complements it. The salmon lobster roll is really worthy. It is fresh and the salmon just melts in your mouth. Yummy! smile

2 Set Lunch at $19.90 Smile Nov 02, 2013

Feeesh ‘n Cheeese

Feeesh ‘n Cheeese

Manhattan Fish Market is having lunch promotion, 2 set lunch at $19.90! It includes 2 mains and 2 soups. This offer is valid for Spicy Baked Fish, Spicy Seafood Sea-esta, Savory Seafood Sea-esta, Grilled Glory Dory, Spicy Tuna Spaghetti, Chicken of Liberty, Spicy Seafood Olio and Feeesh ‘n Cheeese. I ordered my all-time favorite from Manhattan Fish Market, fish and chips with added cheese (Feeesh ‘n Cheeese)! The batter is very crispy and the fish inside is moist and soft. The tar tar sauce and cheese complements perfectly with the fish and chips. The soup of the day is tomato soup. It is a little creamy and smooth, unlike minestrone soup.

Oktoberfest @ Liberty! Smile Nov 02, 2013

Categories : Bars/Lounges

Saw this deal in Voucherlicious- 55% Off Full Meal Platter for 2 – Five Course Meal, Valid All Day Daily at Liberty@247. Voucher entitles 2 Soups of the Day, 2 Liberty Green Salads, 2 Side Dishes (with choices), 2 Mains (with choices), 2 Handmade Sauces (with choices) and 2 Drinks. I thought it was quite a good deal so bought it.

When we entered the restaurant, it was quite dark and cold. The waitress led us to our seating area which was reserved for us (remember to make booking first). The waitress handed over a piece of paper for us to select our side dishes and mains. There are also desserts at a top up of $5. Since it is Oktoberfest, we decided to order some German beer.

For starters, they served the soup. It tasted like Campbell soup. Next, they served the mains. The food was nicely plated with salad in the middle, mains and handmade sauces at the side. The serving is a little small. The fish is slightly pan-fried outside, soft and moist. The sausage is normal. The luncheon meat side dish was thinly sliced and deep fried to crisp, great as finger food to complement our beer. lol

My love introduced me to this Blanco Court Prawn Mee at Beach Road. I can say that it is one of the best prawn mee I have eaten! The prawns are bouncy and the soup is very tasty. If you like your noodle spicy, you can order the dry prawn mee. The spiciness of the chili is just right and not overpowering. The queue here is quite packed during lunch hour. However the after placing your orders and return to your seats, in a matter of minutes they will serve your orders. lol
