Truffle oil and Sea Salt Fries

Truffle oil and Sea Salt Fries

Would have to say that they really put in effort for this 'pot' of fries even thou its just fries! The amazing thing about it is that its not oily at all, or should i say you cannot even taste the oil not even your fingers. Something in which is a good thing as im someone that gets 'gerlat' easily. To the extend that i would still burp out the taste of the oil after a long time! But not for this Truffle Fries! THUMBS UP!

Everything is just right, right amount of truffle oil, right amount of sea salt! To add to everything, the drinks there are pretty reasonably priced.

Hidden gem in town(: Smile Dec 20, 2013

I've always been a fan of yong tau foo and of cuz it's the soup that makes it nice. Normally I will always go for tomyum, because I have this mind set that the normal soup will be tasteless!

But nevertheless, i still went ahead to try their normal soup as my colleague said that it was good! And indeed, the soup did sent a punch down! Ive never tried a Yong tau Foo soup that was so sweet before!

To sum it all up, it was a fulfilling lunch and i will definitely visit the outlet again.

The wet kind of hokkien mee Smile Oct 28, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

There's 2 different types of hokkien mee, 1 is the dry kind and the other will be the wet kind! And of cuz I prefer the wet kind better. The savory broth of the noodles just blends in so well with all the other ingredients used! Having it served to me piping hot is the best thing for either lunch or dinner! And believe me after the first mouth it just keeps me going for more! Situated in a forgotten coffeeshop at serangoon north, I would say xiao di hokkien mee is definitely worth the trip there!

Choochoo Train. Smile Oct 22, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

My favourite cuisine has always got to be Japanese food! Thus I'm always on the run to hunt down the best sushi chain in Singapore. And for me, i have to say that Genki Sushi has to be on the top of my list! What attracts me to the restaurant at first was their ' sushi train'. Instead of the normal sushi belt, Genki Sushi adopts a train kind of service in which you would first order your food with the Ipad provided, your orders will then be sent directly to the kitchen and lastly the train will transport your food over!

Not only that, after eating you would have to slot the empty plates into the mechanised sushi plate-clearing system. Every 8 plates cleared will actually earn you a jackpot chance!

Dishes that i will never missed whenever i am at Genki will be their Spicy Salmon/ Tuna sushi and all those fresh Sashimi!

Recommended Dish(es):  Salmon sashimi,spicy salmon,spicy tuna

Spending per head: Approximately $20

Vietnamese Baguette  Smile Nov 20, 2013

Categories : Vietnamese

Its always crowed at Nam Nam Noodles Bar, especially during lunch time! So my colleague and i didnt had the chance to try the famous baguette that people was talking about! Only till yesterday when the crowed wasnt that pack than we had a chance of getting a table.
We went ahead to order our individual bahn mi. I ordered the tofu and the fishcake bahn mi.

Which tasted really good! At first i was having doubts on what i just ordered as we dont normally match tofu and fishcake with bread!
Fishcake is the normal fishcake but its the tofu that make it special, its coated with some sauce which i choose to believe that its their homemade sauce. Somewhat like thai chilli but alot sweeter and savorier
Along with the main ingredients are Chinese parsley, shredded carrots/ radish and cucumbers.

Condiments are on everyday table for customers to mixed and match to their own liking!

Would definitely visit the place again to try out more Saigon delicacies.
