Company Dinner @ One Concept Smile Nov 13, 2013

Was there on Monday evening for a small Company dinner. Their host served us with a few new dishes of which some of them was really good in my opinion.

Tom Yam Soup (Served in a coconut)

I thought it was really a very nice idea to serve tom yam soup inside a fresh coconut. Spicy & sour soup served in a container of sweet & fresh coconut flesh. However, some of my colleagues commented that their soup is not spicy enough. For those whom fancy their soup to be hotter, you can ask for more chilli to be added.

Starter's Platter

As we had 6 people that night. I didn't try the two items on the side. What caught my attention was the centre piece. This "thing" is actually mushroom soup fillings deep fried in bread crumbs!! One bite and you can taste the nice creamy taste of Cream of Mushroom!!

Scallops

Nice & fresh, no real big hoo haa in my opinion.

Meatball Buns

This dish is special. When I first ate it, it totally felt like beef. Their host came by to ask for our feedback & told us that it is actually pork meatballs marinated with some spices and cooked pasta style!! It's a little messy to eat, but definately one of the better dishes they offer.

(Oven Baked?) Silver Snapper

Firstly, I am not too sure how it was prepared. It is definately not steamed, not fried so oven baked is my guess. The silver snapper is served plain, with just some sea salt sprinkled on top. You can experience the original taste and total freshness of the fish.

Ink Squid Pasta

Unlike normal ink squid pasta, it is definately less oily. It tasted more like the common chinese dish 月光河... Where they put a raw egg on top of the cooked kuey teow. The egg used in this context is quail egg.
