There has been quite a lot of hype about this shop that sells Bear Paw Buns from Taiwan. I saw an advertorial on Openrice plus a television programme which recently promoted the restaurant. Thus adding to the curiosity.

Anyway so I visited last Thursday with my sister during a particularly long break. We picked up the “menu” and decided that I will be getting the OISHI Fish Fillet, Milk bun, with Golden Cheese sauce. My sister chose the Karaage Crispy Chicken, Oat bun and Honey Mustard Sauce. But sadly the milk bun is not available so I went for the curry bun. (Sounds like a funky flavour) We ordered the sets which comes with drinks and fries as well.
Chicken combo - $7.80 (Depending on the sauce, you may have to add $0.20 and to upgrade your fries to cheese fries, that would be another $1)
Fish Combo - $8.80
Drinks and tags
We were handed a laminated tag and went back to our seats when it started drizzling before it transformed to an all-out shower. So we changed our seats to near the counter which afforded some form of shade against the rain. Meanwhile the staff also shifted the tables and chairs to the sheltered area along the Scape* building.
Fries and burgers!
We didn’t have to wait long for the food. Around 5-10 minutes. After taking some pictures we started digging in and in the process of doing so, the fish fillet in my burger did slipped out a few times and almost landed on the table. It was quite a messy affair trying to eat the burger. The sauce was all over the wrapper in no time and I started dispensing a lot of tissue to clean up after myself.
The curry bun has a slight hint of curry in it which is great but I am not too pleased with the fish fillet. It was quite tough biting into the fillet and I felt that even with the sauce, it was quite dry trying to finish the whole burger. It is as if the cheese is non-existent.
I tried the chicken karaage one and I felt it tasted better than the fish though my sister commented it was quite hard to bite off bits of the chicken at the time. Overall adding to the difficultly level of eating the burger.
We had normal fries and cheese fries but the latter is a better option. Gave it some flavour.
Cute decorations
The restaurant is decorated with little lamps and fake potted plants at the side and since it is an alfresco dining area, the decorations sit in well with the overall atmosphere. Only downside is when it rains, there will be limited seats.
I won’t say I will return for the meat burgers but I may come back and try their paw buns that are paired with ice-cream. I do think the buns are quite nice.
