I remember my friends and I used to frequent this little restaurant during long breaks when we felt lazy to venture to AMK Hub (the closest shopping mall). It's a short walk away from our school and so it's quite a convenient dining option.They have student meals (comes with main dish and drink) which ranges from their baked rice to their fish and chips and i got the latter. The latter is lightly battered and tastes quite average. But i guess for the price and the ambience offered at the restaurant, it is quite a worthy deal. Speaking of which, the restaurant has this out-at-sea feel with larger-than-life fake fishes mounted on the walls, coupled with the usual decorations like ropes and nets.

Decided to return to this stall to try their carrot cake, to see if it was as good as the char kway teow which i had last week. Wanted to order yin and yang, but i think either thanks to inability to communicate clearly or the person's listening skills, i got the white carrot cake ($4). LOLAnyway the carrot cake is nice but does not have any wow factor. For the price, the portion is a small but i guess this is Food Republic so cannot expect too much. The carrot cake is charred in some parts and perfectly cooked in other parts. Still i think i had skip this the next time and just go for the char kway teow.

I seldom buy food at Feast@Kopitiam but i decided to do so last week as I was feeling quite  lazy, not wanting to walk to JP1. 

Anyway i decided to get the roasted chicken rice and add roast pork as well. The total came up to about $4.50 which was quite reasonably priced, according to my mum. The rice tasted like normal white rice. I like the roast pork cause its has crispy skins and salty meat.  The chicken meat on the other hand was a bit chewy, not my favourite variety. Didn't boost much flavour either. I also bite into something hard while eating the meat which was quite an unpleasant experience.

The one thing that makes the stall stand out from other chicken rice stall is their chilli sauce. Its special in the sense it didnt look like the chilli one usually eat with chicken rice but tastes similar. It is slightly spicy and tangy and seemed to have some residue at the bottom. Nice! Wished they had given me more so i could pour it over the rice.

Decided to try the chicken rice at this stall after seeing a short queue that was forming outside this stall. It looks good too.

I ordered the Roasted Chicken rice ($4.30). The rice smelled quite fragrant but tasted normal. I love the sauce that surrounds the roasted chicken. It is quite salty and they gave quite a lot. I was able to dip the chicken in the sauce or pair the sauce with the rice. The chicken is quite tender but i think it would be better if it is cooked longer to tenderize the chicken more. I also scooped up a small bowl of chilli sauce, though it is spicy, i didn't think it tasted that nice. One positive thing about the stall is that they gave quite lot. So its worth the price. Furthermore comparing the price of the chicken rice to the other stalls at the Cook House, the prices offered at the chicken rice stall is much more affordable, around $4-5 to the $6-7 at most of the other stalls at the food court.

Went to get some gelato with my friend after dinner at Gelateria Italia. They are good in the sense they allow customers to try different flavours (just point to the flavour you had like to try and they will scoop a small spoonful for you to try). I taste-tested the lemon one, quite nice but not sure i can handle the tangy-ness so went for the Cookies and Cream one. I regretted it. It tasted largely of vanilla and dough. Didn't enjoy it much. I guess it could be because its quite sweet and so when you have to finish the whole cup, one can get sick of the flavour after awhile. Hardly any trace of the oreo-esque cookie taste which i was expecting. Should have just settled for the Lemon.My friend got the Soursop one, which i think tastes fantastic. Quite interesting a flavour. A little sour but its also sweet so its not too overwhelming (like those sour till your mouth also become twisted kind). But I only had a bite so it's hard to tell. One bite compared to one whole cup. (lucky i ordered the small cup one)

Still i think the flavours offered at Gelateria Italia are exceptional except for a few exceptions like the Cookies and Cream.
