Astons Specialities at Waterfront OK Dec 28, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Restaurant | Steaks and Grills | Burgers and Sandwiches

Yesterday I went to Astons Specialities at Waterfront for lunch after having fun at the Universal Studio Singapore. I didn't quite enjoyed my dining experience there due to their inefficient system as we were required to order food first and pay money before we can find a seat to sit down.

I ordered a black pepper chicken chop for $ 8.90 with fries and baked potato as my side dishes.

In addition, I also ordered a cup of pepsi for $1.80 only which was quite worth it.

The environment was quite clean and there are many seats available.

Currently, there was a Christmas promnotion where you can enjoy the New York strips served with 2 side dishes and soup of the day with a bottle of snapple for $24.90 only.

Moreover, Ashton now serves seaweed fries apart from the normal fries for your side dish.

There was a promotion for OCBC card holder as you can enjoy the root beer float for $2.50 with any order of the Wagyu Ribeye Grade 6.

Today I have my lunch at Chili's Grill & Bar at Central @ Clarke Quay, it was only a few minutes walk from the Clarke Quay MRT. We ordered mexican food as the restaurant was famous for serving mexican food. Moreover, the color and the outlook of the food looks very appetizing.

Firstly, we ordered the Bottomless Tostada Chips served with salsa sauce for $9. As you can see the Chips portion was alot and the best thing was that you could refill the chips as many times as you want which was very worth while.

Then, we also ordered the Chicken Club Quesadillas for $24 and Cripsy Chicken Tacos for $26. The Chicken Club Quesadillas was made up of chicken, corn guacamole, onions, peppers, it was served with sour cream, house made pico de gallo rice and black beans. On the other hand, the Cripsy Chicken Tacos consists of crispy chicken, bacon, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, honey chipotie drizzle and ranch dressing, it is served with rice and black beans. I like the dishes alot as the food looks healthy and appetizing to eat. Each servings has 3 to 4 pieces enough for 4 people to share the food. I personally think that one piece of each of the dishes was enough for me.

The Salsa sauce and the black bean sauce tasted heavenly. There was also avocado sauce served in the Bottomless Tostada Chips dish.

In addition, we also ordered a few glass of plain water and as you can see that the size of the glass of plain water was huge which was quite worth while.

The surrounding environment was good just that the dining table and chairs were small and we felt abit squeezy.

Lastly, there was a promotion for buying Chili's gift certificate as you can get $10 free for every $50 purchase. I highly recommend this restaurant for people going to dine at the Central @ Clarke Quay as I think that the price was quite reasonable and the food was nice as well.

Fried fish soup at Food Republic OK Dec 22, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

Yesterday I went to food republic to have quick lunch.

I ordered a bowl of fried fish soup with noodles for $4.80. The fried fish was good as it was quite crispy delicious although the soup wasn't as nice as I expected as I requested the stall holder to add some milk in it but there no milk taste in it. The noodles was also alright as it was well cooked and bouncy.

The stall holders were quite friendly and fast in serving the food although the environment was not very clean and it was very packed all the time.Food Republic @ nex@Serangoon

Loui's NY Pizza Parlor OK Dec 22, 2013
Categories : Pasta

Yesterday night I had my dinner at the Loui's NY Pizza Parlor in the Universal Studio Singapore. It was my first time eating there and I was very anticipated to try their food.

I ordered a plate of meat balls in Italian Spagetti sauce for $4.80 only. The meat balls were nice and the meat was chewy and tender. On other hand, the food doesn't looks appetizing as the color wasn't nice.

I also ordered 10 pieces of drumlets for $9.80 which was quite worth it. The drumlets were quite cripsy and tasty although the size of drumlets was quite small.

Lastly, I ordered a piece of Hawaiian pizza for $9.80. I didn't quite like the pizza as it was quite cold and dry even though the portion was quite big. Personally, I prefer to eat warm food with alot of sauce on it.

The waiters were rather friendly and helpful although they were quite slow in serving the food and settling the bills. I will prefer waiters who were fast and efficient.

Moreover, the environment was clean and there were alot of tables and chairs available so you don't have to worry about finding seats in the large crowd.

There was a family combo available with 20 inch pizza, 4 drinks, 2 soup of the day and 2 dessert of the day. I will recommend people with family to go there to dine as the food portion was more suitable for family.

Lamb Chop at LENAS Smile Dec 19, 2013
Categories : Pasta | Steaks and Grills

My friend and I had a Pre-Christmas celebration at LENAS @ Hougang Mall today. There was a large variety of food to select from the menu at LENAS and I had a hard time deciding what food to order as I were spoilt for choice.

Eventually, I settled down for the Western food for which was 2 pieces Lamb Chop with baked potato side dish which costs $14. I have always been a great fan of the lamb chop especially with the black peppered sauce. Today the baked potato tasted very good and it was well cooked. In addition, the food portion was just nice for a person and I feel quite full after the eating it.

Apart from that, I also ordered an Ice Tea for $1 only as there was a promotion on Tuesday. You could also adjust the sweetness of the Ice Tea using the sugar syrup provided.

Moreover, I ordered Banana Fritters & Oreo Cookies for dessert which costs $6.80. It was good and I managed to finish it even though I was quite full at that time. The fried bananas were very crispy and eating together with the ice cream was superb.

The waiter and waitress were also quite friendly and very efficient to attend to the customer’s needs. Moreover, the food served was also quite fast and there was little waiting time although there were a lot of customers at that time.

There was also promotion on every Tuesday as you can have 30% discount for your second favorite Pasta series and top up $1 for a choice of Ice Tea or Ice Ribena.

In general, the food is not bad and especially the ice cream dessert tastes great. Given the wide range of food available in the menu and reasonable pricing, I highly recommend this restaurant.
