Nice and cheap Bibimbap Smile Mar 11, 2014

Chanced upon this restaurant back last year when we were looking for food in Central. It has a jap name and seems like a fusion restaurant but the food selection are more towards korean. The restaurant is quite big and judging from its gold and glittering entrance, I first thought it was a high class expensive place till I saw its menu.

We have tried its bbq sets the last round, the bbq pork belly was nice and flavorful, and the price was very reasonable.

Recently, I was back to try the korean Bibimbap set lunch. At only $4.99 (before service charge), it also includes a soup, side dish of kimchi and a serving of fruits. The bibimbap is delicious and very filling and satisfying too! The restaurant also serves complimentary ice roasted tea. Where else can you find such a good deal! Even korean food stalls in foodcourts dont sell their bibimbap so cheap, even after adding up the service charges, it is still a very good deal, not to mention this is a set meal with complimentary drinks too!

There are other lunch set meals from $8.90 onwards too, a great place for good food at reasonable prices!

This is my favorite Killiney outlet, compared to those in malls, I just felt this outlet have that kopitiam feel and eating there just fits the mood. Love the kaya toast there, especially the thick rich butter and kaya bursting with every bite, super heavenly!! Also tried the mee rebus on a recent visit, it was good too, very yummy and appetising.

First time trying the famous bak chor mee in Hong Lim. Had the $4 dry mee kia, quite a small portion of mee but packed with lots of ingredients including meatballs, liver, dumpling, minced meat. There was a lot of liver which I dun eat, maybe next time I should request for no liver. Other than that, it was a yummy bowl of mee, love the mee, the dumpling, even the soup was rich and tasty. It is definitely msg free coz I could only taste the real and true taste of the ingredients, mee and soup. Now, I know why it is more expensive than the usual hawker fare with prices of $4, $5 and $6.

Reasonable and decent jap food OK Mar 06, 2014

MOF is one of the place I frequent for reasonably priced n decent jap food and desserts. One of my favorites is the Chicken Toufu. Love the toufu and the chicken on top, hot and pipping and the gravy is good too. It doesn't come with rice so I usually order an ala carte rice.

The cold ramen is also one of my favorites, flavorful and springy ramen with a nice proportion of sauce.

I cant say the same about their soft-shell crab bento, too dry and one gets sick of it before even finishing half of it.

I quite like their drinks. This time, I had the Iced Azuki, not bad but I prefer the Iced Matcha that I had previously tried.

Good Kway Chap Smile Jan 29, 2014

My favorite kway chap stall, also formerly from the old Zion food centre. I dont usually eat the intestines but my family likes it, and it is very clean and springy. I like the tau pok, tau kwa, egg and the braised meat which is very well braised and fragrant. The kway chap is very nice with the rich and flavourful gravy. It is cheap and yummy! It is a popular stall so go early in case some items get sold out fast.
