Nice and cheap Bibimbap Smile Mar 11, 2014

Chanced upon this restaurant back last year when we were looking for food in Central. It has a jap name and seems like a fusion restaurant but the food selection are more towards korean. The restaurant is quite big and judging from its gold and glittering entrance, I first thought it was a high class expensive place till I saw its menu.

We have tried its bbq sets the last round, the bbq pork belly was nice and flavorful, and the price was very reasonable.

Recently, I was back to try the korean Bibimbap set lunch. At only $4.99 (before service charge), it also includes a soup, side dish of kimchi and a serving of fruits. The bibimbap is delicious and very filling and satisfying too! The restaurant also serves complimentary ice roasted tea. Where else can you find such a good deal! Even korean food stalls in foodcourts dont sell their bibimbap so cheap, even after adding up the service charges, it is still a very good deal, not to mention this is a set meal with complimentary drinks too!

There are other lunch set meals from $8.90 onwards too, a great place for good food at reasonable prices!

Best Ang Ku Kueh! Smile Mar 11, 2014
Categories : Chinese | Coffeeshop

This has been our family's all time favorite ang ku kueh over the years. My mum only eats ang ku kueh from Ji Xiang. It is popular and famous not for nothing, and it definitely have a loyal following of long time customers.

The skin is soft, thin and chewy and it blends with the filling with every bite, unlike other ang ku kuehs where the skin and filling are like a seperate entity.

Our favorites are the traditional peanut and tau sa flavors. Both the tau sa and peanut is very fragrant and smooth, and melts in your mouth.

Quaint Charming Cafe Smile Mar 10, 2014

Categories : Bakery | Café | Desserts and Cakes

Was in the Everton neighborhood to cafe hop and was attracted to Batterworks by the coffee aroma. The quiet and cozy cafe was unlike other cafes there which were more crowded and commercialised, but I prefer the charm of this little cozy and friendly cafe. Interior decor is clean and simple, with nice comfy seats.

The carrot cake ($4.20) is not too sweet with just the right moisture and texture. I really do like this carrot cake, so far the best I tasted. The latte is nice and aromatic too.

Will definitely go back to try their other desserts and the savory items.

Yummy Cheesy Crazy Potato! OK Mar 10, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fast Food

The Crazy Potato combo set ($3.90) with a soft drink makes a great tea time snack especially when the cheese fries craving strikes! Crispy fries and thin sliced potato chips with a very very generous serving of cheese, it is superbly good!!! Love anything with cheese! Other fast food joints should be as generous as LJS when it comes to the cheese! Cheese fries should be eaten with lots and lots of cheese, coz that is what makes it stand out from the normal fries! And LJS does not disappoint in this aspect!

Tried this for the first time and totally love it. All the goodness packed into a roll, half costs $6.90 and one roll is $12.90. The Salmon Rumba is yummy grilled salmon rolled up with lots of yummy ingredients. My friend had the crispy softshell crab Crabby Crunch and she love it too. Sushi Burrito is healthy and delicious and is perfect for those who wants a quick and convenient meal.
