Pandan nasi lemak OK Jan 24, 2014
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

There are so over a hundred food stalls in this hawker centre and i was really spoilt for choices every time i am here.I decided to give this stall a try as their bright banner with newspaper recommendation really stood out.And interestingly they have pandan flavoured nasi which is green in colour which i have never tried before.I queued for about 10 minutes and got my plate of piping hot nasi lemak with a few items of my choices such as egg and sausage. However i find the rice is pretty normal,i have thought it would be very aromatic due to the colour and pandan.

The service here is very quick as there is not much of a queue i got my orders within 5 minutes.I ordered the special duck rice set and gotten extra chilli as i like their chilli alot.I have never tried chilli like this elsewhere. It is like sambal chilli which is slightly crispy with sweet tinges. The rice is nicely cooked but not too soft,i loved the braised duck meat which is cooked til tender here.

Passed by this small stall selling pretty interesting crepe cake one afternoon and decided to buy 1 piece of the original flavour with topped strawberry to try out as i have never tried crepe cake before. The cake was priced at $7.50 each which was a bit pricey in my opinion. It consisted of many layers of crepes with cream sandwiched in between the layers. The cake was abit too sweet for me.

Normal mochi OK Jan 23, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Desserts and Cakes

We were shopping around the area after lunch time and was craving for something sweet to snack on and happen to pass by this mochi sweets stall in bugis+ selling cute mochis in various flavours. And as always, I would mostly order the chocolate flavoured ones.I ordered a piece of chocolate mochi for $2.50 and mochi was served to me wrapped in paper. However as the mochi was frozen, i have to walk around with the mochi in hand while waiting for it to be thawed before eating which was quite a hassle.Taste is normal though.
