sweet delights Smile Jan 17, 2014

We were here on a weekday night after dinner and it was crowded and we waited 10 minutes before we could get a table. It is our first time here and they have a wide range of hot/cold desserts including fruity shaved ices and kuehs. For every $30 ordered there was a complimentary bowl of black sesame paste which was rich and slightly bitter. My favourite would be the steamed pumpkin cake which is soft, moist and rich.Another not to be missed item is the durian dessert which i did not try but my sister said it was creamy and rich with just the right amount of sweetness.

90 cents chicken wings OK Jan 17, 2014

This sister cafe is just beside Pine Garden and you can also buy slices of cakes from Pine garden and bring it over here to enjoy with your meal. They have an ongoing promotion where you can get drinks at 50 percent off here if you purchase any cakes from Pine Garden.I ordered the plate of fish and chips for about $7 and it tasted really normal. The chicken wings which are on promotion at just 90cents each is a better deal as they are big and juicy.

Addictive durian balls Smile Jan 17, 2014

Categories : Hawker Centre

This stall closes early.I was there a few times after 3pm and it was closed. My favourite items here are their fried durian balls which i seldom see at other goreng pisang stalls. They are priced at 3 for $2 which is reasonable as cost of durian is higher. It is very addictive as the warm slightly sweet durian cream oozes out as you bite upon the very crispy crust.I also like their fried banana as well as tapioca which are nicely fried without being too oily.

nice and homely Smile Jan 17, 2014

This is one of the more popular stalls here with long queues especially during lunch and dinner. Most people would order their cooked dishes with porridge but i liked rice better.Their dishes tasted homely and nice and they have interesting dishes such as the hainanese pork chop and braised pig skins which are popular items. My favourite would be their home made meat balls which are only available from afternoon onwards,at 3 for $1 if you purchase seperately. They are different from those outside that contains turnips or onions. This one here is a pure ball of well marinated meat which i really enjoyed eating one after another.

Simply delicious Smile Jan 16, 2014

I always visit crystal jade bakeries to satisfy my cravings for my favourite fried carrot cake, shrimp paste fried chicken and of course BBQ charsiew bolo buns. They have a good range of breads and dimsums including flavourful egg tarts as well. I love their bolo bun with slightly crispy sweet buns filled with juicy well marinated shredded charsiew the most, I can have 2 at once. Their shrimp paste fried chicken is not to be missed to with the aromatic shrimp paste flavour which is not overpowering. You can never go wrong with good food at good price here.
