Queued the longest for any food in Singapore. Really underestimated we singaporeans tolerance for queuing for good food!!

Was ushered seats promptly by friendly staffs.

Yummy Century Egg congee! Really enjoyed the smoothness of the congee and the tiny bits of century egg and minced pork. It's served bland so you may want to add a dash of soy sauce and pepper if you prefer
* Its quite filling so be careful!




Spring rolls!! These are served fresh amd SCALDING HOT. Burnt my tongue eating this. I would say the rolls are quite ordinary and do not excite my tastebuds. But real cripsy though.




I do not fancy this. Here's why.

1) Its too filling!
2) Not flavoured enough. Too bland
3) Sliced shiitake mushrooms not fragnant.
4) Rice have that bitter lotus leaf smell and taste.

THE CHILLI SAUCE HERE IS GREAT! Somewhat tangy and sweet, its has peanuts to heighten the fragrance of the sauce, with a little kick of hotness. Best dipped with spring rolls and the glutinous rice thingy.

Ahh, one of the 4 heavenly kings here. This tasted really good as you got the sweet flakey skin on the outside and juicy char siew bits inside. They complement really nicely!




I liked how these siew mais still maintain its moisture when you bite into them. Using fresh wolfberries and mushrooms you can really taste the difference between these and conventional Hawker Siew Mais.




Very chewy and fresh! I like! Skin is quite thin so to enjoy the chewyness of the juicy shrimp instead of a lump of flour. These looked really delicate!




It's appreciated that the staff poured the special sweet and salty sauce only when the chee cheong fun is served on the table. Its prevents it from turning too soggy. Char siew is nicely done while maintaining its sweetness. A bit touch to bite though. Cheong Fan is soft and breaks easily - like melts in yo mouth!

SIDENOTE: Really didnt enjoy the ambience of this place. Too noisy and too hot! Was sweating thoughout my meal. (Had to have a glass of PAID cold refillable water) I think that their intention is to stimulate the actual dining experience in a typical dim sum restaurant back in hong kong with the style of having afternoon tea while talking loudly. Creating a lively environment. But I think it's too real of a stimulation for me!

Anywayz a great place for lunch or dinner if you dont mind the heat generated by people and their voices!

Loved how rich the Kimchi guk (soup) is in it's spicyness! Although salty, the soup is counter balanced with rice and the small cube of tofu. [FYI the tofu is really usefull to curb the spicyness] The ikan bilis are wayyyy too salty and have a slight bitter aftertaste. However I liked the kimchi in both the guk and the side. The guk one really numbs your tougue (and gives you da KICK) while the side one refreshes your tastebuds. Moreover the beef can be wrapped in lettuce with side dishes for a authentic way of korean eating. MA-SHI-SO-YO!

Had been patronizing here for like 3 times? Hahahaha this place serves affordable and yummy steamboat items in a 'All-You-Can-Eat' manner.




A really quiet eating place as we are the ONLY customers they had in the afternoon. Perhaps it's the weekdays? The staffs were staring outside desperately.




Anywayz there was a huge variety of items to choose from. Ranging from assorted veggies, meats, tofu, dumplings and others like eggs, rice and other staples. There was also 7 different broths to choose from! Chicken, sweet corn, spicy (Ma la), laksa, etc.
Besides that a-la-carte dishes can be ordered (similar to cze-char stalls) in a separate menu.



Ordered Twice from the menu. Service was quick and efficient. Ordered the sweet corn broth but was disappointed as there were only 2 unfresh corns in a lightly flavoured soup. Wasn't tasty enough for me.
The other ingredients were okay, not marinaded so that you can taste the actual flavour of each ingredient. The good thing was that the broth gets more complex after more stuffs got added into it.



And be surprised by the array of sauces they provide! Garlic mixed with spring onion and sesame oil made everything nice.

OVERALL:

Great place for cheap steamboat eats, especially during lunch hours as they have a promotional price of $10.90 nett compared to the usual $18.90. Dont be shy to ask for seconds or thirds!

An ideal place for lunch and dinner. First opened in 2010, this korean style stall still sells scrumptious eats at affordable prices till today.




Bibimbap set [$5.50]

The meat can be altered to chicken, beef or pork to suit your preference.

What I like about this bibimbap is that is light yet rich at the same time. When mixed evenly, you can taste the ingredients respectively. A really good & healthy meal! Also I'm pleased with the kimchi as it was not too sour and spicy. Egg soup really warms you inside out.

Again ate at this small little restaurant that was tucked at the corner of Clementi mall. Took me awhile to find this place at first HAHAA. First Stop: Yummy Potato salad appetizer.
Price: Around $4+ [Forgotten ]

Taste: Was satisfied with the creamy texture of the potato. There's even a salty dressing provided for the generous spread of fresh greens. REFRESHING

BUT: It was rather disappointing that the salad was served AFTER the main course. Time management needs to be improved.Second Stop: Grilled Fish Set

Price: $15+

Taste: Was about the same quality as compared to other Japanese restaurants. Didn't have any outstanding points, other than the soft wintermelon wedges and pickled wintermelon. Have them between bites of fish for a quick palate cleanse. Didn't fancy the kelp slices. Third Stop: Chicken Rice Bowl (Didn't remember the original name OH WELL)

Price: $18+

Taste: Really Crispy Chicken! If I had a clip mic I will demo the sound of biting into this juicy poultry. It wasn't salty and just oily enough for my liking. It was rather light though but adding the special sauce heightened the flavor of the dish! That salty and tangy sensation just blew me away.CHICKEN CLOSE UP!

【IMPROVEMENTS】

○ Miso soup is way tooo saltyyyy. (Ugh ugh, the generous amount of pork slices, carrots, wintermelon & tau pok won't bribe me)

○ Service.
*The grilled fish set was initially ordered wrongly; it was intended to be the set with the whole fish. (But kudos to the calm lady who changed the bill to accommodate the altered set )

*Time management

But most importantly enjoyed my meal here!
