Seaweed and peanuts

Seaweed and peanuts

This is my first visit to the restaurant, the Q is very long ans I almost gave up but was convinced by my friend that it is really worth it. The seats are a bit cramp but for the food it is worth it to bear with a bit of discomfort. We ordered the sweet and sour pork with lychee, which I always love to eat dishes with fruits, the pork is fried till crispy but not tough and coated with sweet and sour sauce, the sweetness of biting the lychee makes this dish very appetizing. We also ordered the wok fried spinach with 3 types of eggs - salted eggs, century eggs and normal chicken eggs. This is the best I have tasted so far thou I have tried this dish at other restaurant. It is not too salty and sauce is rich and flavourful. We also ordered the signature which is fried mee sau, the mee sau is fried with prawns and top with seaweed, peanut, spinach and eggs. I love this dish it is delicious beyond describtion, the peanut and seaweed is crunchy and the sauce is very rich. Also would like to mention that you can order extra serving of seaweed and peanuts as snack. The chilli is to die for, it is blended with lime and very delicious. Total spending is about $50 for 2 pax.

Soup

Soup

Went for set lunch with BFF at Ma Maison Bugis, we always decide on the set lunch as it is value for money. Usually below S$20 with soup, main course, salad, french baguette and dessert. The soup of the day changes daily, that day it happened to be Tomato soup, the soup is not too sour and goes very well with the fresh, warm, crispy french baguette. The salad is fresh and dressed with thousand island sauce. I love that there are olives in the salad. I choose to have steak and spagetti for the main. The steak is very well done, i ask for medium and it is really medium not like some restaurant that cannot cook steak doness accurately. The steak is cook on the outside and pink in the inside, the brown sauce is delicious and the spagetti is al dante. Marvelous. The dessert for set lunch is ice cream, you can choose either, chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. I choose strawberry, but it was not scoop properly, hence the ugly shape in the photo but still delicious.

This restaurant is close to nature on a hill

This restaurant is close to nature on a hill

This is my first time to the restaurant. After walking up a small slope from a little lane at the back of Star Vista, I found this restarant on top of a hill, full of greenery. There is a swing inside the restaurant which is not in my photos, which is quite interesting.
Mushroom soup

Mushroom soup

The mushroom soup is blended with various fresh mushroom and is very rich, I can taste the grinned mushrooms in the soup. The restaurant also added truffle on top of the toasted bread and it is really yummy
Pan fried cod fish

Pan fried cod fish

The cod fish is fresh and pan fried to perfection, not over cook and the skin of the fish is pan fried till very crispy which is what i like. The chef also compliment the fish with watercress sauce which is quite refreshing. There are also mesh potatoes underneath the fish which is what I love, I love to eat fish with mash potatoes, and the mash is not instant, it is truly mashed potatoes.
Cheese cake

Cheese cake

Cheese cake is rich and goes very well with the berries sauce and the presentation is very pretty
Dates pudding

Will definitely come back to try other items.

Most people will order the 8 flavors Xiao Long Boa, which consist of Foie Gras, cheese, Original, Ginseng, Black Truffle, crab roe, Garlic and Szechuan. My favourite is Foie Gras and Ginseng.
Drunken chicken

This is a cold dish. Chicken with Chinese cooking wine. The meat of of the chicken is chewy, I do not like meat that are too soft like fish and the cooking wine enhance the flavour of the chicken
Pork with garlic sauce

Pork with garlic sauce

Sliced pork with spicy garlic sauce. the pork is a combination of lean and fat meat, however it does not taste too fatty. It is boiled hence, the spicy sauce is needed to add flavours to the meant

Fried red bean pastry. It is fluffy like soufflé and inside is red bean fillings and coated with icing sugar. It is not too sweet and the red bean filling is made with real mesh red beans and not instant canned beans.

Waraku at vivo city , this restaurant gave seats that are overlooking the sea. You can see Sentosa island from the restaurant and occasion boat sail by. Very nice environment. The sushi is very fresh and unique. We tried the deep fried prawn sushi which I like the presentation. It is like a dragon boat. Also I like the salmon and avocado sushi , salmon and avocado taste good together. The grill scallop is also juicy and fresh. We also had beef hot stone pot rice. Although the origin is Korean but this Japanese restaurant does it quite well. The rice taste very good with flavorful beef and egg and vegetables and mushroom all mixed together. Total cost for this meal is about $80!
