Best Soy Sauce Chicken  Smile Jun 18, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre

This is one of my favorite stall at the food center in my neighborhood. They have been around for close to 15 years or so. They are open from noon to about 11.30pm. They have wanton noodles, chicken feet noodles as well as shrimp dumpling noodles. What I like best is of coz their star dish- Soy Sauce Chicken Noodles ( yau kai mee) . It has been voted one of the best soy sauce chicken noodles on Hungry go where . You can say that it is my pick me up food!

There may be ques during meal times but it moves quite fast.
Reasons why i love this noodle
- lots of sauce! The stall owner is nice..and would make it very saucy when I packet it home to eat. Noodles does not become clampy like some others.
- sauce goes well with chilli and chicken. leaving u wanting more!
- Chicken is tender
- i love to ask for more veggie and they are willing to oblige me smile
- garlicky chilli makes it yummier to eat!!!

I give it 4/5 !!

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Sakuraya has been around for awhile smile It is quite a no frills jap diner where one can have very fresh sashimi and meals for a reasonable price

Have been here many times and here are some of my fav. from sakuraya smile

Very nice maki

The freshest sashimi. I love being able to choose my own fresh fish!

Are you drooling already ? smile

This is Tako Wasabi! Very delicious...raw octopus with wasabi.

Here's their californa maki which I totally love.

It will never go wrong when we eat at Sakuraya. Services are okay, friendly and the service staff will also recommend you dishes if you don't know what to order smile

Sweet buns!!  Smile Jun 17, 2013

Yay to another new outlet of Barcook bakery!

Here are my two favourite buns from Barcook!

Have to go early to queue after work as they are sold out very fast!! and usually there will be a queue for buns after work smile
I like the fact that they bake the bread just ready for us to buy after work! The buns are still warm!

This is the Custard Bomb Bun, also known as Liu Sha Bao! Was literally flowing as I eat it! Not salty sweet like the Liu Sha Bao.

This is my other favourite. Chocolate banana bun!
Look at the generous amoutn of chocolate and banana inside...Yummy yummy!!

Will try the others in time to come lol

The best French Toast ever  Smile Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Café | Coffeeshop | Desserts and Cakes

I am totally surprised that there are no reviews for this wonderful coffeeshop bread! It is a pity that the coffeeshop is moving as the building has been sold recently.

it is of coz not the best coffeeshop to dine in but the toast and coffee are awesome~~~ It's also a bit sad that the people toasting the bread are not locals. But still they managed to hone their skills well. I was there a few Saturdays ago with some friends for a truly local breakfast at this unique building~!

It is a very laid back coffeeshop. Just place your order at the counter and wait for it there or if they are not very busy they may send it to your table.

The french toast is a must order. Each slice of bread is completed coated with egg they come topped with cold butter. Mix the butter with the toast and coat it with some kaya on the side. the taste is just awesome!!~ Truly my No. 1 coffeeshop french toast ever!!!

French Toast

If french toast is not quite your thing, then u can still have the usual kaya butter toast.
bread is toasted nice and crispy. Goes well with the half boiled eggs or a nice cup of coffee.

do go visit them soon before they move away smile

It was by chance that I bought some Ondeh Ondeh from this stall at The Hong Lim Food Centre.

I was going around the stalls , deciding what to eat for lunch when I came across this stall that sells kueh. Ondeh Ondeh has always been my NO.1 favourite kueh. So imagine my eyes lit up when I saw boxes of ondeh ondeh lined up in front of the stall. I just couldn't resist them!

So I bought a box of 6 to try. I think it was $2 (cannot recall) It was still warm!~ You know some ondeh ondeh has very thick skin lol and the gula melaka inside is pathetic. This one is the king of ondeh ondeh! Skin is thin, and the ondeh ondeh is enough to make you cry!

Eat it whole and let the ondeh ondeh explode in your mouth.. again this taste and feeling is indeed 100% heavenly! Ok... now go get some and try!!!!
