Great food at a resonable price  Smile Jul 09, 2013

There are a few other eateries at this stretch that is worth trying.

Thai Noodles House is one of them and is popular with students from NUS and the other schools in the area. Prices are very reasonable and easy on the wallet.

Simple set up

We just had to order the Thai Iced Tea! It's one of my favourite drinks smile

What is Thai food lunch without Pad Thai! Not too sweet.. but then again I am not a Pad Thai fan; I like my noodles savory.

Beef noodles was not too bad.

Glass Noodle Salad - love it! Light and easy to eat.

Their special tofu, goes well with the chilli.

It's one of my favourite eateries for Thai food smile

Nothing to shout about  OK Jul 08, 2013

Lenas is a part of the MOF group. We decided to eat there because there was a pizza promo going on. Order a large pizza and get a smaller one free.

Here's the big pizza. It was thin crust but it felt very home made. Taste wise was okay.

This is the free pizza, it is quite okay. But they served it on a very big wooden platter which took up a lot of space on our table.

Ordered wedges too. Nothing special about it.

Last on the table- pancakes! The banana was not very ripe and does not go well with the ice cream and pancake sadly.

If not for my MOF card, I probably wouldn't go Lenas tongue

Service was quite slow at this new outlet.

Soup is nice!  Smile Jul 02, 2013

It seems that the queue at Nam Nam wouldn't be stopping so soon. I have been to Nam Nam many times but there is no need for me to wait in line as I don't mind sitting on counter seats or not so ideal tables. But do note that the queue can be quite long during peak hours.

Was there last week with my other half.

I ordered the Chicken Pho. it was my first time trying it. Everything is exactly the same with the beef one except it uses chicken breast pieces.

I love the lemon which added extra sourish zest to the soup. The soup is not as tasty as the beef one but still comes off as light and sweet. I like to add some chilli oil to it and eat my chicken with the various sauces on the table smile

the above is my other half's mix beef pho. It has the different parts like tendons and stomach. Sliced beef was fresh and not overly cooked. Don't wait too long to eat it because it will be quite tough. This soup is very nice ..sweeter than the chicken one.

This is the 3 color dessert. it is actually much like our local chendol. lol

In love with what I see and eat  Smile Jul 01, 2013

Travelling 30 mins via public transport may seem like a short journey to some , but it does seem a tad far for me at times. I have been spoilt badly. Staying near town makes going places like Chua Chu Kang , Woodlands (you know, the far end of our island) seemed like eternity.

Comparatively, going to Bukit Timah that day seemed like a piece of cake...quite effortless smile The company and food were the draw! I was on my way to lunch and coffee with a dear friend. I really love the decor of this cafe.. The furniture used are all restored and you are able to purchase them too! You will be smitten by what this cafe has to offer, just like how my friend and I were!

The downside of this place is that it can get very noisy when it is packed. Also, the service staff may appear to be somewhat curt and 'cold' when you ask for food recommendations. We received a rather hostile vibe from her. Plus, it is after all a a cafe cum vintage fitting outfit, so there are not many tables available. You may have to use the big communal table (seems common these days at such cafes) so your heart to heart talk may be overheard by other table mates tongue

But really, you will be won over by the vintage items they have stocked in the shop and those pretty tarts and cakes waiting for you in the display shelves!!

Sweet isn't it? This is the Mixed Fruit Tart. The tart base was a tad hard though.

I love those peaks of the tart! This Passion Fruit Tart is not too sour.

In love with the whole setting... am being transported to another realm smile

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

This hawker center is very crowded at all times. Lots of people like coming here for a meal in the morning before going for their workout at the bukit timah hills or before going to school and work smile There is a big wet market at the ground level too..

So yes.. this is the happy wanton noodles!

Tried this wanton mee many times and it remains one of the best I have ever eaten! It is the black sauce type... and I love it!! Not soggy and I like the amazing chilli too!
