spacious cafe...  OK Jun 17, 2013

Was here with my fren after our dinner nearby.

I was attracted to this cafe after seeing photos from Instagram.

Here's what we have that night.

Shared a raspberry chocolate cake and we had a cup of mocha each. Mocha tasted rather chocolatey and cake was slight dry, and I think I can bake a better one.

So here's how the cafe looks like.. we like that coffee shop table and chairs and the unique lights above them smile

living room setting smile Really quiet on a week day night but great for us to chit chat away smile

Sweet buns!!  Smile Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Bakery

Yay to another new outlet of Barcook bakery!

Here are my two favourite buns from Barcook!

Have to go early to queue after work as they are sold out very fast!! and usually there will be a queue for buns after work smile
I like the fact that they bake the bread just ready for us to buy after work! The buns are still warm!

This is the Custard Bomb Bun, also known as Liu Sha Bao! Was literally flowing as I eat it! Not salty sweet like the Liu Sha Bao.

This is my other favourite. Chocolate banana bun!
Look at the generous amoutn of chocolate and banana inside...Yummy yummy!!

Will try the others in time to come lol

Where is the veg in my noodles  Cry Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant

Was there a few weeks ago on a rainy evening. Needed a nice simple bowl of noodles and guess what..i got what i wanted.. Too simple!

Okay, the shrimp dumplings were nice, but for the price of $6.80 a bowl, I would think they should put in some vegetables. I don't think vegetables are that expensive. I don't believe they can't, as my friend's bowl of beef brisket noodles had veggies. (Look at June's review below mine for the bowl of beef noodles)

I was quite disappointed but was too hungry to ask for my vegetables. I will definitely question them the next time if I should ever eat there again. sad

The best French Toast ever  Smile Jun 17, 2013

I am totally surprised that there are no reviews for this wonderful coffeeshop bread! It is a pity that the coffeeshop is moving as the building has been sold recently.

it is of coz not the best coffeeshop to dine in but the toast and coffee are awesome~~~ It's also a bit sad that the people toasting the bread are not locals. But still they managed to hone their skills well. I was there a few Saturdays ago with some friends for a truly local breakfast at this unique building~!

It is a very laid back coffeeshop. Just place your order at the counter and wait for it there or if they are not very busy they may send it to your table.

The french toast is a must order. Each slice of bread is completed coated with egg they come topped with cold butter. Mix the butter with the toast and coat it with some kaya on the side. the taste is just awesome!!~ Truly my No. 1 coffeeshop french toast ever!!!

If french toast is not quite your thing, then u can still have the usual kaya butter toast.
bread is toasted nice and crispy. Goes well with the half boiled eggs or a nice cup of coffee.

do go visit them soon before they move away smile

can eat la.. OK Jun 17, 2013

We have eaten their snow ice at their other outlet. So we decided to go for their non ice dessert this time round.

This is what we tried.

Gingko barley barely has any barley in it! shocked( $3!!!)

Quite disappointing but the dessert it self was okay.. not too sweet. Orh nee was a tad sweet for us . Gingko has a bitter taste to them..they did not remove the center bitter portion.

I guess they are still good for the snow ice dessert.. don't go for the hot dessert unless u want to be disappointed.

There were only less than 15 people in the shop when we were there. It was also a little warm, not sure what's wrong with the air-con.
