My friend promoted me about this Qoo10 coupon deal that was going on one evening. We were discussing where to celebrate a friend's birthday. The deal seems good: $29.90 for Japanese buffet and can have free flow of beer from 6.30 - 7.30pm.

Upon arriving, we were told that we can only have the beer opened for us instead of taking as many as we want as stated. So okay, fine with us since we were there for the food.

Decor wise, really nothing impressive since there isn't much of a theme or decor to start with.

I can safely say this is one of the not so nice Japanese buffet I have ever eaten. Could have eaten at a hotel Japanese buffet with just a bit more of money.

We were really disappointed as we went around to get our food. True indeed we did eat a lot of salmon sashimi. A bit too much to the extent that was all we were eating because the rest of the food were quite normal. How much fried chicken can we eat?

And the promised Hokkiado crabs, don't get me started. There was only a small amount of the crabs available. Anyway they were okay to eat. But don't expect much.

Overall it is okay to eat there, but don't put too much hope to the food. Eat to fill up your tummy is okay.

But to feel satisfied..hmm..it really depends smile

Oh, one dish that was really bad was the tuna sashimi. It was all fishy and just tasted bad. Perhaps it was just our unlucky day. But for sure i am not returning to any Momiji buffet smile

Don't blink now for you will miss seeing one of the most sinful sushi around!
My first taste of this wonderful creation goes way back to 2008. It was at their first branch at Food Republic Suntec. I have no idea if there will be one there again since they are under reno as i write this review.

I was introduce to this joint by a friend who worked in one of the offices in Suntec. There were very good reviews from the papers with regards to their Shiok Maki. IT really has to be one of the most sinful sushi ever! Imagine charcoal-grilled eel, avocado and rice wrapped with salmon and topped with generous amount of mayonnaise.. thats not all, the final icing on the cake would be the fish roe! Open your mouth wide and take it all in one mouth! It is orgasmic I tell you!!
It leaves you wanting more..hehehe. But okay, right after the 3rd piece I bet you will feel bloated. So don't overkill it !

Next, I also tried the pidan tufo. Again it is a sinful dish! The creamy pidan sauce is heavenly! ( to those who love pidan of coz..strictly for pidan lovers ~! ) Looking at the photo now is making me crave for some of this ~~ It is one of the best pidan toufu I have ever eaten smile

Another of my fav.sushi at this joint would be the pidan maki. It is almost like the pidan toufu , just that the main is changed to a sushi roll.

Okay, this diner also serves the usual sashimi and udon etc. Not everything is so sinful as the ones mentioned above smile

We went by Paddington House of Pancakes after dinner and shopping on a week day smile It was about 9.15pm when we stood outside waiting to be served. We were kinda suprised when told that they were about to close. Oh, but their last order is at 9.30pm, so that was still okay.

We went in and sat at a corner table. I always thought that the cafe is big but only realised it was the mirror that gave us all the illusion! There isn't a lot of tables but was okay if you go after dinner hours for desserts. I have seen and heard good reviews for the desserts on instagram so I have been wanting to give it a try!

There must be more than 40 choices of pancakes and crepes combinations listed on the menu!!! We simply have no idea where to start choosing from .

We decided on a stack of 3 pancakes topped with ice cream and some bananas after studying the menu for 5mins! There was this peanut butter caramel like spread to go with the pancake and bananas. Tasted really heavenly when eating all together!!

Here's a close up of maple syrup drizzling onto the pancake and ice cream lol

I posted this pic onto my instagram feed as well and tagged it with #makanhunt.

Guess what! It won me two Golden village movie tickets..All thanks to Open Rice for organzing this tag your food hunt! So yeah, they also gave me this cute paper craft which I had to cut, fold and paste . I can place the small pancake photo into the slot! smile

Erm, of coz my friend and I were wondering perhaps they can give more practical gifts like pen or food vouchers lol But anyhow, I am very happy with the tickets! We will go back for other desserts ..i am not too sure if the other food items are any good.. Perhaps can give it a try~!

Classic old skool cakes n snacks  Smile Jun 13, 2013

Categories : Bakery

I only realized that this cake shop/ bakery is actually an old timer when a friend told me she ordered her wedding cakes from them! How ignorant of me! As I am getting married end of the year, I too need to order my cakes from them. But this post is about one of their classic biscuits. I have no idea what the exact name is but it is totally delicious.

I like how they imprint the shop name on to the snack. Brings back so much memories as my mum would buy these snacks for me and my brother when we were kids smile This snack is soft and has black sesame seeds. It cost about $1.70 for a pack of 5. I will be going to try out more of their offerings smile I heard the old skool cream cakes are not too bad!

We were lost as to where to go for breakfast one weekend morning. it came to us that we have not visit the new pte hawker center near our place. Upon reaching there, we were quite disappointed that this hawker center doesn't seem to operate in the mornings. There were only a handful of stalls that were open for biz. There really isn't many choices to choose from. So my other half went ahead and got me something which neither of us have eaten before .

This is an apom. It is crepe like as you can see. There's an egg with cheese inside. Tasted really heavenly! But it costs $3.20. I wouldn't mind eating it once a couple of months la.. This stall also has handmade putu mayam! Something i loveee!

I have not been to the hawker center since. I am not sure how is this place like in the evening. I hope more of the stalls are opened by then. But i will be going back for the putu mayam for sure!
